Bavarian
Honestly I can't understand why the Bydgoszcz team manager did not protest and defend his rider against the harsh exclusion after the crash with Jacek Gollob. It was obvious that none but Jacek was to blame for the two riders coming down in that situation. PePe was on the outside and had already gone past Jacek, when Jacek moved out trying to block PePe. Where was PePe supposed to go, squeezed in between Jacek and the fence. I mean Gollob could have gone to the inside there was the whole width of the track available for him but PePe could go nowhere. Jacek's move caused the accident and this was pretty obvious to everyone who saw it. How can the referee make such a diabolical decision is really beyond me. He can't be so stupid, can he? Maybe he was just not brave enough to exclude a home rider or even worse, he might have played his part in the home team's strategy to win this match at all cost. I wouldn't blame anybody more than the referee. If a rider makes such a move as Jacek Gollob did, he should be rightly excluded, but to make a decision like this referee did, is the real scandal. I hope the PZM does take a closer look at what happened here.
Lawrence
Jacek's move caused the accident and this was pretty obvious to everyone who saw it. It was - but only for Bydgoszcz`s fans and for 99% of polish People watching this match live on TV. And 4 some of Tarnow`s fans [but it was about 5% maybe] Rest of Tarnow`s fans [more than 20 000 at the stadium] were absolutely sure that it was Pepe`s fault. Don't you think you going a little bit too far here? A lot can be said of the ref but I refuse to believe that any such scam could take place. He just made a mistake, one of many this season, but it did not decide the outcome of the whole match. I agree that Bydgoszcz could have got few more points from Pepe there, but the outcome still would be the same, around 18-20 point difference. Quite frankly, I’m fearing a little bit for our young riders Marcin and Janusz. From what I hear we can expect really hard riding in Bydgoszcz. It is possible that one rider who is in the center of attention, Jacek Gollob, wont be ridding as they suspect he fractured the collar bone during the crash. With him missing there would be an additional pressure put on them. I would rather loose the gold than see something happen to our home boys. Hazzman
My Polish friends, Will this make Polonia fans fall out of friendship with Tomasz Gollob? What was the crowd attendance there? 25/09 Looks like its going to be rather tasty. But we could only get this passion in Poland. Mateusz
My Polish friends, Will this make Polonia fans fall out of friendship with Tomasz Gollob? Some Polonia fans fell out of friendship with Tomek two years ago when he left us. But the majority did not... And I don't think that it will change because of one Jacek's reckless action. It's not Tomek who caused PePe's fall. What was the crowd attendance there? Over 19.000 and it's an official info, not fans' estimates or something. 25/09 Looks like its going to be rather tasty. But we could only get this passion in Poland. And rather hot... Edited September 14, 2005 by Mateusz
Subedei
Wish it was on television in the UK. Should be something special.
Hazzman
There is the possibility of getting a receive from a satellite dish, co-ordinates I have forgot. Also you can ask someone of the possibility of taping the match.
KevH
Hazzman, do you mean you can get Polish television on a Sky dish, or do you have to have a specialist dish to receive it?

From what I hear we can expect really hard riding in Bydgoszcz. Well, let's hope it's hard but fair riding. I'd guess Marcin Rempala will be okay. Of his 5 programmed rides, 3 are with TG and 1 with TR. And he should be okay when he's racing with TG. There's not many finer team riders around than Gollob. And I guess Janusz Kolodziej will be mostly paired with TR, so he should be okay as well.
PolskiZuzel
Hazzman, do you mean you can get Polish television on a Sky dish, or do you have to have a specialist dish to receive it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Polish Tv can be had (free of charge) through digital (FTA free to air) satellite receiver costing around 50.00 GBP. You will also need a bigger dish than SKY, abouth 85cm, and an attachment to that dish, called LNB. Direct your dish on 13.0 degree East where you'll find Hiot Bird satellite, through which you will have literally hundreds free channels. Among them there will be Polsat TV channel which since beginning of this season has been covering Polish EkstraLiga speedway matches. Admittely the matches Polsat TV is showing are the re-runs at about 11.30 pm on Sundays. The original, live coverage is done through Polsat Sport, and for that you have to pay (in Poland) an annual fee. If you don't mind watching Polish speedway few hours later than the live show then Hotbird FTA satellite receiver is for you. Pitty that the season is coming to the end though. Dekker
I would disagree with Dekker's suggestion that he "played for the dive" though. Looked like he was forced to go wide so tried to run right to the fence for some extra drive and just lost control and had to bail out.C'mon Henry, he could have saved it if he wanted too.... Subedei
And after Sunday's/Monday's meetings, the top 10 in the Ekstra Liga averages are as follows (last recorded position and average in brackets): 1..(3)..T Gollob..Tarnow..9.73..(9.64) 2..(1)..R Sullivan..Czestochowa..9.71..(9.71) 2..(1)..N Pedersen..Zielona Gora..9.71..(9.71) 4..(6)..R Holta..Czestochowa..9.43..(9.31) 5..(5)..L Adams..Leszno..9.36..(9.36) 6..(7)..T Rickardsson..Tarnow..9.28..(9.20) 7..(8)..J Crump..Torun..9.14..(9.14) 8..(9)..A Jonsson..Bydgoszcz..9.03..(9.00) 9..(4)..P Protasiewicz..9.02..(9.38) 10..(-)..G Walasek..Czestochowa..8.70..(-.--) So, with Nicki P and Sullivan missing again, TG jumps to the top of the averages again. Others who didn't ride this weekend were Adams and Crump. And as a little extra, here's a few averages that might be of interest to Elite League fans: 11..R Kosciecha..Gdansk..8.52 12..K Kasprzak..Leszno..8.38 14..H Andersen..Wroclaw..8.11 15..G Hancock..Gdansk..7.92 21..S Ulamek..Czestochowa..7.39 34..T Bajerski..Gdansk..5.42 36..M Puszakowski..Torun..5.32 41..A Smith..Torun..4.94 43..A Skornicki..Leszno..4.56 It should be noted that only Ulamek and Puszakowski from the above rode on Sunday/Monday. And a few riders who haven't yet raced sufficient heats to get into the "main" average listings: B Pedersen..Gdansk..9.55 S Nicholls..Tarnow..9.00 L Richardson..Zielona Gora..7.04 R Miskowiak..Wroclaw..6.13 A Lindback..Wroclaw..4.36 And none of the above rode on Monday/Tuesday. Subedei
Rumour is that Unia Tarnow will be showing the return fixture at Bydgoszcz live on giant screens at their stadium and then the team will be whisked from Bydgoszcz to Tarnow via helicopter after the meeting to thank their supporters and - they're hoping - celebrate another league title. Mateusz
Rumour is that Unia Tarnow will be showing the return fixture at Bydgoszcz live on giant screens at their stadium That's not a rumour but a confirmed piece of information. It's what was said at the stadium in Tarnow during the match against Bydgoszcz. It's a good idea I think and a great opportunity for those who cannot go to Bydgoszcz to watch the final match together. and then the team will be whisked from Bydgoszcz to Tarnow via helicopter after the meeting to thank their supporters and - they're hoping - celebrate another league title. And this is a rumour. But that doesn't sound impossible - with such big money of Rafineria Trzebinia it should be no problem for them to organize a helicopter from Bydgoszcz to Tarnow. Anyway, if Bydgoszcz somehow would reach 56 points I wonder what they are gonna do there in Tarnow... a mass "harakiri"? "Tarnow - the party is cancelled" - I'd love to say it on Sunday's night but I'm afraid I won't have a chance...
Subedei
I also hear that Unia Tarnow might be tempted to use some of the Rafineria Trzebinia money to lure Pawel Hlib to the club for next season. I assume that'll be to replace Janusz Kolodziej and Marcin Rempala in the junior berths. But where would that leave Jacek and Tomasz Gollob? Hazzman
Although Tarnow are great side, I would like Bydgoszcz to overhaul em. It has all the hallmarks of a classic meeting. Tarnow are the Chelsea of Polish Speedway. Stop them, Polonia!!! Edited September 20, 2005 by Hazzman
