So Juha Moksunen is still around! I remembering him riding for Vikingarna from Örebro. He rode at Eskilstuna once and was so good. This was in the 80s.

He later rode for Getingarna in the elite league but thas not that good, saw him in Karlstad in 1997-1998 riding for a swedish division 1 team, dont remember which team though.

What are Markku Jurmu up to this days?

He rode for Tuna Rebels from Eskilstuna and did good.

Moksunen is also the riding coach for Team Finland, and rides for Forssa Royals in the league and 1st division. He's also a regular A-finalist in finnish longtrack. In my opinion he still has some ambition in his longtrack riding, speedway is more of making the numbers for the team.

Markku Jurmu= rider????? Are you sure...?? That's something he left out, when someone asked for his info on the finnish forum. He has an unofficial role as a "spokesperson" (not sure if that's the right word) for the Track racing committee in Finland. Last year was a mechanic for Panu Karvonen, who's now taking a break from the sport. He was also in the group that wrote GP raports for "Offroad" magazine, but they've been non-excistent this year. He's also involved with speedway.org trough ice racing.

Sorry f-s-p it was the "wrong" Marko. Was it Jumisko? I dont recall his last name.

Do you recall Marko Kunelius?

I've heard of Marko Jumisko, yes. He was in the -97 Championship winning side of Wasamat from Tampere. He was from Oulu, and with the travelling from up there combined with the money in the sport (not much of it), he just got tired of it and called it in. Funny story, Jumisko can be understood as a sentence "Is it stuck?" Guess did the guys give him some hard times for that one :D !

I think some Kunelius people live in Eskilstuna, not 100%. I do remember one Kunelius riding in Finland, but thats too long ago.

I"m really surprised really how little interest these finnish results get! :o:shock:

Marko Kunelius is living here in Eskilstuna. Hes also got a son, Simon who is about 14-15 years of age. Simon had a drabble on 80cc but has not been seen on a bike for over a year now. Smederna which is my local team got both Marko Kunelius and Olli Tyrväinen riding in the same team for many years. I think Olli joined Smederna in the late 80s and stayed with the club until 1997 or 1998. Kai Niemi was in the 80s riding for Örnarna and did very good!

i hope Tero Aarnio win it

I know Tero Aarnio won it! :D

Those are results, havent had the time to search heat by heat results or scorechart.

tarabanko... I know Olli somewhat, he used to be very good between the mid 80's and mid 90's. Kai Niemi is more of a mystery (actually to everyone) for me. He was a good international rider in his time, made the most classic exit from the sport never to be heard again by his mates in the UK. He's somewhere in Spain fixing scooters to the best of my knowledge at the moment. His van and bikes can be found from the same place he left them about 10 years ago... Truly a classic stunt!
