SCB
I have just seen that worldspeedway.org is not going to be updated any more. What terrible news, I ALWAYS looked at this site first when trying to find out anything about a rider or international meeting. Where will I look now? Does anyone know a good alternative? Does someone fancy doing something similar? The amount of work that must have gone into that site is unimaginable and I'm sure I'll not be the only one who'll miss it. It was THE first speedway site I ever looked on, quite possibly the first website of any genre

SammyR
I am devastated. I can't begin to imagine how much time and effort went into producing this site, but was very grateful nevertheless. To me, it was the bible of speedway racing. To be able to pick up, at the press of a button, results, averages and information from every speedway nation was priceless. Nothing else could compete. I logged on to this site to see how riders were performing in Sweden, Poland, Czecho, etc., and would have happily paid good money for that facility. Marcus, thank you for giving me access to so much information over the years, and best wishes for your 'retirement'. Sam.
TwoMinuteWarning
Marcin's site was the very first that I accessed when I went on line in 1997, and I must have visited it a thousand times since then. If there is anyone out there that never saw it, take a quick look before it disappears completely: http://world.speedway.org/ It actually began in 1994(!) when hardly any of us had internet access. It never worried about appearance or graphics, it was all about information, and much the better for that. All the information that was regularly updated on Marcin's site will almost certainly still be available on the internet - but probably on 20 or more different web sites instead of just one. As usual, the problem will be locating the information. I can only imagine how many thousands of hours that Marcin must have spent working on the site over the last 11 years, and he provided a fantastic service to us all. Thanks, Marcin, and I know that your site will always be remembered as the mother of all of the thousands of speedway web sites that were to follow. shazzybird
Been on the internet for about 8 years and it was the first site I found regarding speedway and regular check in on there to see how the lads are doing abroad, will be a shame to see it go x
arthur cross
It won't just be supporters who'll be gutted about Marcin's decision ... various managers, promoters and journalists have relied on it over the years, not just for checking results but especially for the calendar of future events enabling them to work out when one of their riders could be busy with a later round of a European or World event. Of course, Marcin is entitled to make this decision but it's a shame that he doesn't seem to have advertised if anyone would be interested in either taking over his site or at least developing a worthwhile successor site. Above all, thank you Marcin for the many times I've been able to find out what I wanted to know so easily.
Lucky Star
I'm also devastated to read this bad news. This was one of the most comprehensive websites covering not only speedway but also ice racing, long track and grass track. I am extremely grateful to Marcin for all his hard work in keeping the site regularly up-to-date with fixtures, results, rider profiles etc. from all around the world. Thanks Marcin, your efforts were much appreciated. Sadly, it really will be very difficult for us to get all this information in future unless someone with a lot of spare time and many contacts takes over where Marcin left off.
