Swc The Final

Recommended Posts

The Poles were mighty impressive last night and didn't look to have any weakness in the team. But it'll be tougher come Saturday. Rickardsson will be a huge threat and Andreas Jonsson always performs well in the SWC. PK will be solid, but Lindback and Lindgren could be weaknesses for the Swedes. It's definitely between the Poles and the Swedes. The Danes were pretty hopeless at Swindon and then again last night. They'll have to raise their game massively if they're to mount a challenge.

And Team GB? Welcome to the role Germany and the Czech Republic have played in the last two events.

If Gollob keeps his current form going, I'd say the Poles will win. If not, those pesky Swedes could make it 3 in a row. But Gollob will be at his best, I know it, and so Poland will win.

But, make no mistake, this is a tougher meeting than any of the GPs this season. It should be a classic.

Team G.B in the same role that the Germans and Czechs played ?? Cant see them getting any less than 30 points myself !

I believe Great Britain have it within themselves to win. My belief is they will score 48 points for some reason. This figure sticks in my mind.

I think all the teams are on a par with each other with all the riders being quite capable of beating each other on the whole.

It is in the promoters interests to run a fair meeting and prepare the track for all the riders to perform at their best. With that thought in mind, may the best team win. I believe it will in fact be Great Britain the one least likely to succeed in most peoples eyes.

Having read this thread most of you have the Brits written off already  Ok so as pointed out and laughed at on another thread we have not won for a number of years now........... SO WHAT!!!! we are there most years and have a good following, almost won last year losing by one piddling point, regardless of who's fault it was we lost AGAIN....... SO WHAT!!!! we came second, runners-up whatever you like to call it we are still SECOND in the WORLD!!!!!!

Don't write the lads or Middlo off yet, like someone else has said we have 2 GP Riders and the rest are not going to give up trying whatever!

I still have faith in ALL (and yes Lee is included in ALL) the TEAM GB members, yes Poland ran away with it the other night but then they wasn't racing against the World Champions or the Runners-Up were they :approve:

COME ON MIDDLO AND HIS MERRYMEN BRING THAT BLOODY TROPHY HOME!!!!!!

As a nation of sports supporters we have a history of hoping. Hope springs eternal and every time the team steps onto the playing area all is forgotten as hope is the reality. Should GB finish hopelessly last on Saturday, do you think it would be too much to hope that the powers that be in this country introduce methods and systems that, in future, benefit speedway and riders in this country, so that we have more than just hope?

Anything other than a hopelessly last place will just paper over the gaping holes in the wall!!

regards

Well, I hate to say it but I fear that GB will be bottom of the pile tonight  I know that Bomber and Steady have the courage of Lions, but dont forget that Poland/Norway, and Denmark raced on this strip a couple of days ago.

Given that, I think that the order will be;

Poland/Norway (Rune Holta is about as Polish as Greg Rusedski is English :D )

Denmark

Sweden

GB

I think that if it had been run on a more neutral track it may have made a bit of difference, but I think the other night could be described as a dress rehearsal for a Poland/Norway win.

COME ON YOU LIONS,PROVE ME WRONG

On the night if 4th then in theory this is last but............ we all know there are others that never qualified so to make the final is an achievement in itself, the worst we can be is 4th in the World

Hard to explain but we all get behind our team no matter what. If they win we are over the moon and probably shocked as on paper we don't stand a cat in hells chance. Yet we cheer them on no matter what. Why....... because we are British and love a challenge (luckily ). Wasn't so long ago they wrote off our Rugby Team what happend ........ World Champs  One day it will happen might be 2005 could be 2006 even another 10years until then we'll cheer whoever pulls on that TEAM GB race jacket like our lives depend on it.

xx COME ON TEAM GB xx

I'm just going to think positive. I did it on Sunday and I'm going to try my luck again tonight. If we don't win.....oh well, we made it into the final which is more than the Aussies can say. If we win, we win, and it'll be fantastic. If we don't, we just have to think, oh well, let's wait till next year. Don't write us off yet though!!!!!!

COME ON TEAM GB!

I'm here Shazzy

I certainly hope it will be a loud night on the Updates site, with several other meetings being run as well.

This meeting is indeed being covered on the updates site tonight, and the thread is open now for anyone wishing to say good luck to their countrymen (which ever they may be). The thread can be found Here and it is open for guests to post on too.

I shall be popping onto there (I will be trying for after every heat) and joining in the fun but can't stay too long as we have guests coming around to watch the Final and join in the fun.
