superjoe
Well the opening rounds are over and have given us the line up for the Race off as Denmark Poland Czech Republic Australia Would love to see the Danes and the Aussies get through ( Crump and Bjerre ) but I cant see the poles Missing out and i think the Danes will just have the edge over the aussies. Will the Poles be tempted into bringing in Walasek as he rides Wroclaw very well, Will the Aussies bring in someone to Replace Den Watts? The Czechs have no realistic chance of going through but could influence the result all the same. heres looking forward to a good meeting. rabbit
Think the Poles have to be definites to go through to be honest. I'd love to see the Danes progress as well - it'll be tough between them and the Aussies, and I'm not totally sure who might come off best, but leaning more towards the Danes. Think you're right about the Czechs, and on a track like wroclaw think they might score better than they did on Sunday. Can't wait...should be a great meeting! forrest
I'm going to go for the Poles and Danes to through to the Final. It's going to be another close call again. i think the poles will finish in the top two with a partizan home crowd behind them. Also think the Danes will go onto the final as they have slightly more strength in depth than the Aussies. The Czech's might spring a few surprises and have some say about who makes it or not. tommy
PL & DK, it should be a close one just like yesterday! Walasek IN for Kasper!
tigerblues
Not sure yet, don't think the Poles can miss out, they're good as it is but on a track in Poland must make it easier. I think the Aussies could go through, but the Danes might be pretty strong too. You never know though, the Czechs might get something done, well more than Sunday anyway. Don't really know at this stage but if I had to pick I'd say the Poles and the Danes
seanisnumber1
Poland and Denmark with the Aussies just missing out, due to the Poles and Danes strength in depth!!
SCB
Poles to win it but the Danes will be close, the Aussies will be behind and will use the joker and sneak past the Danes who are unable to use the joker and show the joker up for the pathetic rule it really is. Subedei
The Poles obviously look very strong for Wroclaw, in particular Jaroslaw Hampel who rides for Wroclaw in the Ekstra Liga. I can see Walasek coming into the Polish team at the expense of either Kasprzak or Protasiewicz. If TG can repeat his form from last night, the Poles should walk it. I wouldn't count out the Australians, whose "Holy Trinity" of Crump, Adams and Sullivan are all in the top 5 of the Ekstra Liga averages. The Czechs are no-hopers, but the Drymls could get a few points. Which leaves the Danes. They were rather pathetic at Swindon. Only Nicki P looks like a truly class act. Iversen is a weak link, no matter what Newport and Oxford supporters might believe. And Andersen's Polish form has been indifferent this season. I'm going for Poland and Australia to make the final. ezekiel
I'm praying that Denmark win tomorrow as I've just put a fiver on them!!! Personally I think that they'll make it, along with Poland - I just hope that Poland end up behind the Danes... I'd like to see Austarlia and Denmark in the Cup Final. Both are fine teams and have a great history. Australia is the land from whence came speedway and the countries riders have long been leading competitors at all levels of the sport. Poland are staging two legs of the competition which gives them a very generous crack of the whip. I feel that is enough. BTW: I'm confused about your whether you think Poland will qualify? You say you 'think' they are 'definites' to go through. Definite means 100% therefore you cannot 'think' they will go through as that means you are uncertain. It also means that you've confused this old codger's few remaining brain cells!! Just joking! Edited August 4, 2005 by BertHoven
rabbit
Blimey..you're on the ball this early in the morning. I've had to think for the last 5 minutes on this one! By saying 'think' I meant it as my own personal opinion rather than being unsure of the fact. Going to have to be more careful of my phraseology on here from now on me thinks! Still backing the Poles and the Danes though! Edited August 4, 2005 by rabbit
Wackie
Poland & Denmark to go through with the Aussies missing out in the last heat after leading much of the meeting - that'll give them (and their plastic fans) something to really whinge about.
