osn
News is that Kenneth Bjerre is on the Danish team for the race off, don´t know who is not there, but my guess is that Charlie Gjedde is out. the new is from http://www.kennethbjerre.dk/index.htm
AndyM
Granted Gjedde didn't have a great match in the semi, but I'd have thought his recent form was better than Iversen's? Either way, Ken certainly deserves a place - could be as good as Bomber Harris and Steady were for England, and will definitely be keen to show he's worthy of promotion. osn
It's now official that Kenneth is replacing Charlie in the race-off, it's just been in the danish news.
JT
But Andy M, Iversen lifts himself to a far higher standard for international meetings something Gjedde failed to do at Swindon. Bjerre will certainly strengthen the Danes if the track is made for gaters.
KevH
Are the riders in the same riding order as they were in Event 1 osn?

Subedei
Personally, I think the Danes will struggle to qualify for the final.
iris123
Well as both you and myself thought GB would struggle...... Personally after heat 1 i thought GB would be battling for second with Russia and Czecho

BritPete
The reality was that things most definitely went the way of GB at Swindon, Hans twice lost it on the first bend after leading, Gjedde was leading, but, the race was stopped and he was excluded, on another night the the decisions that went the way of Harris, but, against Gjedde, could just as easily go the other way. That said, Team GB were definitely due some good luck after all the bad luck of the last few years, and anyway, they fully deserved their win for the sheer courage they showed on a difficult track! Lack of experience perhaps? But, as George Andrew would say, "What do I know".....I'm just a Belle Vue supporter. Possibly a wee bit biased, you think? "Never!" "What never?" "Well, hardly ever" Edited August 2, 2005 by BertHoven

Which gifted them and extra 3 points ......... And the Brits still beat them by 5 points . Brits lucky ......... Think you are having a laugh . I take Poland to sneak it from the Swedes and the Danes. GB will almost certainly finish 4th imo.

The Poles will lift the trophy with GB nailed on for 4th spot.
DartfordHammer
I'm not so sure, I reckon we could sneak that 3rd place. I'm not quite sure how, just being optimistic.
21st century heathen
I think it's a good move. Charlie is a racer, which mean you have to be at your best. I don't think he's been at the very top of his game, which could cost him up against two/three quality riders. Bjerre will almost certainly make good gates, and is bound to be in the points. You just can't afford to finish last. I expect the Danes to go through with Poland, and then be battling with GB for third in the final. If you fancy an outside bet then the Danes are the way the way to go. If the track is slick then they have riders who can gate, and aren't slow out front. The Brits are likely to rely on their track craft and passing ability if they are to make a real fist of it.
tarabanko
Really looking forward to tonights race off, just a shame that it goes at a big track. I wish it had gone on a smaller , tighter track. The speedway can be a real bore on a long track as Wroclaw. I cannot predict the outcome of tonights meeting, it will be bloody hard, even tighter than the meeting at Eskilstuna.
