tommy
I'm wondering how much are riders going to be paid by their respected governing body if they advance to the Wroclaw finals? PZM (Poland) will pay the team: -approx. 4200GBP for advancing to the finals. -for 1st place 17,000GBP, 2nd 14,000GBP and 3rd 10,000GBP + FIM reward. tom

Why are you interested in what other nations will pay theirs?
tommy
Because I want to compare how each country rewards the riders. Unless it's a crime to ask?? Edited August 1, 2005 by tommy
rabbit
Bit of a harsh reply Bert...perfectly reasonable question from Tommy I'd say. Afraid I don't have the answer though for the Brit boys at least and these things are never readily available at this end! There must be a standard amount from BSI and/or the FIM - are the amounts you're quoting extra incentives from the Polish Federation maybe? tommy
Yep, polish federation has finally decided to pay the riders (or at least recompensate) for SWC. Last year PZM only reimbursed the riders for travell cost, which was noticeable as some of the riders declined participation by presenitng sicknotes or saying they weren't ready on such a short notice and the team was put together in last minute. FIM/BSI rewards: 1st 25,000USD, 2nd 20USD, 3rd 18USD, 4th 16USD, 5th 14USD,6th 12USD and 7&8th receive 8,500USD. Tommy asked a reasonable question, I agree. I didn't understand why he wanted to know, so I asked a reasonable question [though perhaps, on reflection, my phrasing could possibly have been a little softer]. Tommy gave me a reasonable answer. Tommy, if I hurt or offended you I offer my sincere apologies. It was not my intention to do that.

It wasn't my intention to be nosy. Just want compare how GB, S, DK, etc, reward their squads. tom
AndyM
Would be interesting to know how much has been gathered in sponsorship for the WTC. No sign that it's become the "Joe Bloggs World Team Cup" or any other major name. Perhaps time the marketing machine should be aiming for big names and major deals?
