He went out there, ill, and pulled a max off! I was so proud of the boys last night they all rode their socks off! We was shoutig so much, god knows what the neighboroughs was thinking! . Bomber and Steady 2 brilliant young brits, nice to see some new talent. Can someone please tell me what that flag said about Hans? All i saw was "Hans" and "Robbed". Camera moves so fast you cant see. Edited August 1, 2005 by ReadingRacer05
Grachan
Half the people who was slagging him off have not replied. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's because he has made complete fools of them - one person in particular - and they have no answer. Everyone that is a TEAM GB fan has to be so proud of what they pulled off last night against the betting odds. My neighbours commented on the screaming and shouting last night and flicked through the SKY channels to see what all the fuss was about, after finding the right channel under the guidance of #2 son they too watched the rest of the meeting from about Heat 6 or 7. New to the sport they said they thoroughly enjoyed watching something they had never seen before. Now planning BBQ for the final Yes Lee rode well and that cannot be taken away from him, yet if he hadn't, today would be a different story to include the well known phrases from last nights commentary "I'm not feeling 100%" & "Well he isn't feeling 100%" everytime his name was mentioned. Humble pie well and truly eaten but doesn't mean I have to like him
richtea
It's because he has made complete fools of them - one person in particular - and they have no answer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He has made a fool of me and actually Im pleased he did as if he had ridden how I expected him to then we wouldnt be straight through to the final. I still dont like him but Ill be cheering for him on Saturday. I will also be listening out for the excuses before the match. Not sure who said it but your right all of the Brits do it - if I hear Scotty say Ill do my best one more time I wont be responsible. You do not hear Trick or the others saying that - they are there to win not do their best.

Seems to me a some sad old groupies who can't pick fault in Lee's performance last night have decided to start a character assasination instead! If Lee wasn't so proud to represent his country I wouldn't blame him from telling people to shove it up their jacksie.

shazzybird
Of course it doesn't make you look a sad groupie (that's left to people like me) you like a rider that Wackie likes I would be the same if Mark was getting slated thats what being a fan is all about liking, admiring and seeing no wrong in your favourite rider. Me being a Mark Loram fan would love to see him pull the TEAM GB Jacket on but in all honesty if the team that did it last night can do it again on Saturday then why change a winning combination. I for one will be chuffed to little mint balls but it wont make me be a fan of Lee Richardson that is my right as a fan to like who I like and not go with the rest. BertHoven
What are you talking about so far Lee has been lucky - lets hope for the sake of team GB that luck holds but how can you say he has been riding well <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Forgive me for asking what you may consider a stupid question, but isn't scoring 15 points from 5 rides in each of which he can score a maximum of 3 points the only definition of the term 'riding well' Maybe he did have luck but he was 'riding well' enough to take advantage of what Lady Luck offered him. Perhaps you should write to Mr Richardson and tell him what you thought of his efforts last night and what tactics he should, in your opinion, have employed. He might make you his trainer/manager - or he may issue a writ!
iris123
Maybe someone should tell Sir the fans general sense of opinion is Floppy in <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is the post that gets me.The person that posted and about 3 or 4 others(a fair number of Eastbourne supporters).Does 5 or 6 people represent "the fans general sense of opinion" or was this a tongue in cheek post

BertHoven
[/b] - they are there to win not do their best. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In my many years (59) as a supporter of speedway racing I have never met, never read about, never heard about an automatic speedway rider, a robot racer. I have forgotten the names of more great riders than you will probably ever know. Many renowned international riders - proud to represent their countries. Many marvellous championship riders. Many men who never won an individual title but who were valued members of league teams in all nations. All were masters - nay maestros - of the oval circuit. They didn't always win, though many were seriously injured, permanently disabled or even killed in their attempts. No - they didn't always win; but they always did their best. Brightonbob
Hmmm. OK. Well its like this: 1 - If you had been at Eastie on Saturday, you'd have wanted someone (anyone!) in for Rico too. He looked ill, unhappy, on a bad bike and miserable. If anything I thought Kennet was more likely, or even Havelock. 2 - I didn't 'want' Floppy in at anyones expense in that way. I did say to my mate at the meeting that Floppy was still not 100% and I'm glad he wasn't riding riding at Swindon. I simply put the press up for people to see. 3 - Rico was, simply superb. I think the turn of luck in his first two heats let him get a taste and by the end of the meeting he looked like he had killed his demons. The team did brilliantly. Floopy wouldn't have done better fully fit than the youngsters. If I see one possible team change its Loram if he's 100% as he is so used to Poland. But even if Middlo sticks with those boys, well, they earned it. I'm flying out Thursday. I hope Flops is commentating again so I can by him a (small) drink. Addy
Totally agree Shazzybird. Lee absolutely rode Mark into the fence at Coventry in the British Final. I was right there, he looked saw where Mark was then went wide leaving Mark in a heap. It was a disgraceful thing to do to your fellow countryman. I too will never forget. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Saw that too, was awful, but that was a couple of years ago and he rode very well last night Perhaps - like all of us - he has learned through experience
KevH
Obviously you didn't see the move he pulled on Scotty in Prague a couple of weeks ago then?
