Steve Shovlar
Terrible luck yet again for Middlo and the boys. Every year we seem to have the same problem. Well I reckon 2nd is the best we are going to do and hope Mark is fit for the run off next thursday.
Guest Shale Eater
Middlo must have run over a billion black cats and walked hundred 100,000 ladders. Hope he's fit for the race off/final.

You hope Middlo's fit for the race-off? Surely things can't be that bad? It's got to be 20 years since the guy raced in anger.
tigerblues
if he makes it back from tenerife in time <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lol, he's being flown back ASAP, I'm sure it's well worth missing part of his hols though. Well, that's me tuning in tomorrow night!!!!!!
spin king
Simon is in a rich vein of form at the moment and I am sure that the big Swindon track will be to his liking. What we need to do now is get behind the boys, I am sure that they can still pull this one off.
seanisnumber1
Good luck to Steady, round Swindon he should be fine!! Wroclaw is a big track as well so Steady for all the World Cup in my opinion!!
rabbit
Am I the only person thinking wtf was he doing flying out on holiday, when he was in the Team GB squad and there were well known question marks over Loram's fitness? He must have known that he would be the next person to be called up if any rider picked up an injury? I'll be supporting the lads, but with all due respect think we're going to have an uphill struggle now. Still should be an interesting few meetings! SCB
Why not go on holiday? It's not as if he can't get back in time.
spin king
I pwesonally think tha this could be the time Simon Stead comes of age, this could also signal the time that Team GB start with the younger riders coming through.
rabbit
Why not go on holiday? It's not as if he can't get back in time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And if he couldn't? Just don't think it's exactly top preparation that's all. Hurrying back and scrabbling to get his equipment together for such an important event within 24 hours. Maybe I'm just expecting too much out of a national squad member on the eve of a prestigious event. Just my opinion of course... DartfordHammer
To be honest, I'm not so sure Loram would have been right for the job anyway. He's not been in good form this year with his injury and hasn't looked like really racing hard and winning races. Not that I can't blame him for that, but he's not his usual self. Maybe it's best for him to stand down anyway this year, albeit because of more injury problems. Here's hoping he's back to his former self soon. SCB
Having thought a little about this, prehaps this is what Tema GB have needed, the chance to blood the youngsters, with the exception of Screen, we could be about to see the Team GB team of the next 5-10 years. Stead and Bomber are currently in the best form of their careers and the SWC is on a track they both like (Petrborough would have been better though!). Everything has just fallen into place for these two guys, lets hope it just continues to do so. Look at Sweden a few seasons ago, TRick pulled out of the final with concussion and everyone thought they were dead and burried, along come them youngster David Ruud and Peter Ljung (who had done nothing up to then and nothing since!) and scored wel for them and took them to the title. Norris needed a SWC to realise his potential, prehaps Bomber and Stead need it too, just to take them to the next level, in some ways it's a shame David Howe is not involved too, instead of Joe Screen, he needs some new insentives, a SWC place might just be what he needs. I agree. Team GB has no hope of winning it this year. Forget about bringing Loram back for the race-off (or final) and stick with the younger riders. It's valuable experience. Didn't the Poles turn up with Gollob and a group of youngsters last season? This season, with a great chance of winning, the Poles are going for their stars (and Holta), but last season they knew they didn't stand a chance. superjoe
Sad news for Loram, great news for steady. Big chance for Bomber and steady to prove themselves on the big stage. So Belle vue and coventry riders take up 4/5 of the gb team

He knew if Loram couldn't ride, Middlo would be dialling his number. I dread to think of our side if Simon couldn't get a flight back home. Hopefully he's going to be worth all this, because he probably didn't have to pay for this flight. Still, he's on tracks he should do well on and I wish him the best of luck. Mr. Clemens
It's the oppertunity now for Stead to show he can mix it with the big boys. If he keeps his head and just goes out there and ride he can prove it to himself and everyone else. The Best of British Simon!!!!

There's no doubt about it, Simon has done really well to get a full international call-up in his first Elite League season. No-one can deny that! Enjoy your speedway.
