I still think ZKZ's song should be corrupted for the SWC to:

"Rune Holta's not really a Pole, not really a Pole, not really a Pole."

I'm sure Rico could translate and provide lessons to everyone from the forum going. Could have quite a chant going.

Was thinking the same Subedei but as I'll be cheering the Poles on I don't want to rock the boat with our lovely hosts !

I rather thought quite a few Poles felt the same way. They might even join in. But I guess it'll all be forgotten if the Poles win. Although Holta might be in the firing line if they don't.

I will be at Wroclaw for the race off and of course the final. Standing at The Gem Hotel. Will be there with Anders Nilsson and No Phear Photos Ola Lindholm and also Jerker Ericsson. Hope to meet Up with someone of You there. Cheers.

Right...if the post by Rico is correct (its sounds logical), which is closest to Wroclaw...Leszno or Tarnow? And...which meeting do people think will be the best to see?

Cheers.

(I'm staying in Hotel Mercure Panorama with family)

Leszno is closer by some distance. The Tarnow meeting could see a heavy home win, but Czestochowa (Holta, Sullivan, Walasek) won at Leszno (Adams, Kasprzak) in the regular season. And tommy says Leszno is better than Bydgoszcz. That said, the Tarnow meeting should see the Gollobs, Rempalas, TR and Kolodziej against Andersen and Hampel.

Just realised I can't even watch it live on tv as Sky have put the Saints v Wolves match back to a 5:15 kick off  , meaning I won't be back from that until at least 7:30. Oh well I will have to stay in the pub till the programmes finished in case I get home and accidentally catch the end :P

If travelling to Tarnow from Wroclaw (220 miles) allow plenty of time. Approx 4 - 5 hours by car depending on if the motorway section around Katowice has been completed yet. If it isn't complete it's a total nightmare, about 1.5 hours to get from Gliwice to Katowice, 20 miles! and the road from Cracow to Tarnow is equally as slow.

There's a rail connection but I don't know about connecting times etc.

We drove the A4 motorway from Krakow to Wroclaw in May (going home after the GP - we went to Krakow for a few days via the mtg at Czestochowa!).

The motorway was complete between Wroclaw & Gliwice, but there are no services (food/fuel). You then left the motorway & had to go through Gliwice Centrum on 44 & 78 before picking up the A4 on the other side. Was a bit shoddy due to heavy traffic through town - took about 45 mins.

Motorway between Gliwice & Krakow was complete - but there are two 5.50Zlty toll plazas.

Roads have greatly improved since we first visited Poland - and Katowice is bypassed now too - big difference since even the Chorzow GP.

Is the Wroclaw - Tarnow mtg definately switched to Tarnow then? We'll be off to Leszno as we are heading north to get the ferry from Gydnia to Karlskrona for the Mållila GP. (& VMS v Masarna on Tue ;) )We'll hopefully go back down to Tarnow for the Polish championship on the Mon after the GP.....fingers crossed! :)

edit: have been doing some research on train times in Sweden & found this German site which does trains right across Europe. I looked at Wroclaw - Tarnow & it seems to take 5½ hours. Try this link (in English) if you want more info.

Just to let those that are on the Travel Plus Tour know, we're heading off to Leszno on the Sunday. Looks like it could be a cracker!

Does that mean that you are also on the TP tour Mr Snackette?
