SuzieQ
We are in the Hotel Wieniawa which is in the centre of Wroclaw! We are standing on the back straight somewhere! I am supporting The Aussies and Team GB (some of!!) whereas Tina, Madamemuck and Tiddiwoo (my travelling companions) will be supporting Team GB and well I don't know whom else! Not too sure of where any meeting points will be as yet but there are some going that have my mobile number so can always contact me to arrange a meet! We will not be going to the meeting on the Sunday as we fly back home that day! Here's to a fantastic SWC! (over 3 countries and I will be at all of them! ) Edited July 26, 2005 by Tabby3

Lucky Star
I have just returned from a holiday in Poland which included meetings at both Wroclaw and Leszno. Wroclaw surprisingly beat Tarnow but nearly every heat was won from the gate. This was the second meeting I've seen at the Olympic Stadium and I could count the number of passes in both meetings on the fingers of one hand. I hope that those of you who are going to the SWC get much better entertainment. In total contrast the meeting at Leszno on Sunday was a real cracker - without doubt the best meeting I've seen so far this year. There was passing in almost every race and some of the manoeuvres on the first/second bend were out of this world . Heat 13 was worth the admission money alone - Adam Skornicki and Hans Andersen changed places three times during the race with Adam the worthy winner in the end. The huge crowd created a fantastic atmosphere inside the stadium and Leszno deservedly won the meeting 48 - 42. The whole meeting was a wonderful advert for Polish speedway and as a bonus the beer in the bar was some of the best I tasted in Poland (and I did taste quite a few over there!). It was also the cheapest at just 3.5 zloty - hard to believe, but that's just over 50p a pint! A trip to Leszno is an absolute must for anyone going to Poland next week. It takes about 75 minutes on the train from Wroclaw and the stadium is only a 10/15 minute stroll from the station. By the way, a word of warning for those of you staying at the HP Park or other hotels in that part of town. Last week the trams from the centre to the Olympic Stadium (nos. 8, 9 and 17) were being diverted due to roadworks and they did not go down Sienkiewicza as usual. Do not therefore expect to pick one up near the Botanical Gardens if the roadworks are still in progress. Instead you will need to walk a bit further past the Cathedral and go the stop near the University Library at the junction of Kardynala Wyszynskiego and Szczytnicka. The good news though is that there is now an extra tram line (no. 70) along the same route between the railway station and the Olympic Stadium. ha en bra födelsedag
Hey, can anyone confirm that the following meeting is taking place on the 7th August - Wroclaw v Torum (quarter final 1st leg) Cheers.
Jools
Hey, can anyone confirm that the following meeting is taking place on the 7th August - Wroclaw v Torum (quarter final 1st leg) Cheers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> According to the Sportowefakty website, the playoff meetings for Sun 7th Aug are : Wroclaw - Tarnow Leszno - Czestochowa with the return fixtures the following week (14th Aug). Torun will face an away match at the winner of Wroclaw/Tarnow on 21st Aug, whilst Bydgoscz will travel to the winner of Leszno/Cestochowa. The return fixtures will then be on 4th Sept. The winners of these will then meet in the final. BTW, the dates have been changed on this website - originally, the meetings were on 28th Sept (day after Bydgoscz GP) not 21st. This might have something to do with the British ELRC date at Swindon being altered from the 21st to the 28th. Have a look here for further details http://www.sportowefakty.pl/index.php?dysc...00&dzial_id=358 Hope this helps Apologies if anything is incorrect Edited July 27, 2005 by Jools

Rico
It is almost certain that the Wroclaw v Tarnow match will be switched to Tarnow as there is usually something in the contract with BSI that the club are not allowed to run home matches on the Sunday. This is certainly the case with the GPs and I'd imagine the same will apply for SWC. We still await final confirmation from our Polish friends that this is the case though.
