tomazpozrl
ps. is true that Jurica Pavlic is going to have his last go at the 80cc??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, that's true ! This is his last chance to ride in this competition and he will try to win it. It will be hard against Scandinavians, but Jura has been practising on his home track in Gorican in the last couple of days and is very motivated for this meeting. f-s-p
We have a few finns there as well. Check out: http://www.speedwayresultat.com/2005/index.html go 80cc north and see snittlista. Kalle Katajisto is #1 in averages. Appe Mustonen ( EC #6 -04) had two nightmare meetings with machinery problems, but managed an OK avg. On the south group we have Jari Mäkinen, who's ninth in the avg's without ANY bonuspoints. He's the most experienced one internationally, and has now some new equipment that "fits him like a glove"! They all have one more try next year, but I really see Appe or Jari in the semi, possibly in the final this year. The track was used maybe two years ago for a similar event, so thats one bonus for these guys. All pictures are welcomed by me!
iris123
Of course you can't give the Finns much chance, given they have the worst food in Europe, according to Chirac. Its a wonder they have the strength to finish 4 laps
tommy
Any chance of someone posting the lineup 'cause I can't find it anywhere... Is Henka Gustafsson's son racing?
f-s-p
Of course you can't give the Finns much chance, given they have the worst food in Europe, according to Chirac. Its a wonder they have the strength to finish 4 laps <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There's this swamp football world cup somewhere in Finland next weekend. I just read from text-tv, that the promoter is more than happy, actually quite proud to be serving the worlds worst food in his "Berlusconi cafeteria". They have Berlusconi soup that has kebab meat in it, and Chirac chicken wings, smallest in the world. 6000 players are coming worldwide!! After all this food stuff, there was a poll in a finnish tabloid. Question was which one is more of a moron, Chirac or Berlusconi. Presented were ten facts from both of them. Most of the facts were about their controversial finances and how they have managed to avoid prosecutions (= immunity) while in power. It was appalling reading to say the least... Anyway almost 8000 readers answered, and the verdict was that Berlusconi is the biggest moron of the two with 90% backing him! Any chance of someone posting the lineup 'cause I can't find it anywhere... Is Henka Gustafsson's son racing? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think he was in the top 5 of his qualifier, with 8+1 getting through from the other one. Check the link in the earlier post, go to internationella tävlingar. There's a link there...

f-s-p
I've just been on the phone to Poland. Jari was extremely happy to get trough to the semis. It's been burning hot down there, around +30 celsius, and loads of water has been consumed. By his words the track is soft, just like it was a couple of years ago. All the finns are staying at the track, playing football with the security people to pass the time. Sounds a lot better than waking up at 5 o'clock to get to work

iris123
Seems as three polish riders got through in the second quali that Simon Fischer now qualifies as of right Edited July 14, 2005 by iris123
f-s-p
Seems that the finns have three riders in the semis. SMS just told me that despite one fall, Aki-Pekka Mustonen rode F,0,2,2,3 and was the last to go trough from the third semi. Who could have believed that the finns would actually have a chance of team riding in an individual event on a world championship level semifinal??!!
