tommy
... I thought it a good effort from Zielona Gora against a super-powerful Tarnow team. When TR and TG are in form, they're going to make life virtually impossible for any team Finally my blood pressure is back to where it shoud be ....Overall a great meeting and a lot of passing and fighting. Judging by the score one should be happy that ZG fought hard and gave Tarnow a hard time. But in fact the meetng left some bitterness as ZG was gating well and winning majority of the starts while losing points in the field. In heat 14 Kolodziej passing the slow veteran Swist to grab 3rd place possibly cost us the meeting as 5 seconds earlier Rico passed J.Gollob to give Zielona Gora a short lasting 4:2 score. Next up ZG hosts Czestochowa...another thrashing... Edited July 4, 2005 by tommy
Guest Dog
Here's hoping Dog comes back and gives us his insights into the meeting. I thought it a good effort from Zielona Gora against a super-powerful Tarnow team. When TR and TG are in form, they're going to make life virtually impossible for any team. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The match was really dramatic. Rickardsson fighted wonderful. He must be the world champion...but....in 8th race he finished after Alan Marcinkowski. It was a big suprice because Alan is third, maybe second young rider in Zielona Gora and it was his first such a good match. After this race Rickardsson congratulated Alan...he made a good impession on me and I wish him all the best. Tomasz Gollog (3,3,d,3,3)..I'm not sure it was a defect i his third race. He was the last and I think he dindt want to make 0...he prefered "d" than 0..but it's only my opinion. On the whole Gollob was booned by fans. In last time it's a standard in Poland. People don't believe him, he is very contoversial...
Subedei
Yes, I knew a chap in Torun and he could barely stand TG. But that's not so surprising, since Torun and Bydgoszcz are such rivals. And my lovely assistant, ZKZ Kitten also told me TG gets a hostile reception when he comes to Zielona Gora. Well, thanks for your input Dog. Hope to see you next time. Edited July 4, 2005 by Subedei
Subedei
And to close off the weekend's Ekstra Liga action, here are the current top 10 in the averages (last week's position and average in brackets): 1..(1)..R Sullivan..Czestochowa..10.37..(10.22) 2..(2)..J Crump..Torun..9.73..(9.73) 3..(3)..L Adams..Leszno..9.63..(9.56) 4..(4)..T Gollob..Tarnow..9.51..(9.50) 5..(6)..N Pedersen..Zielona Gora..9.42..(9.42) 6..(5)..P Protasiewicz..Bydgoszcz..9.31..(9.49) 7..(7)..R Holta..Czestochowa..9.08..(9.24) 8..(8)..T Rickardsson..Tarnow..9.00..(9.02) 9..(8)..G Walasek..Czestochowa..8.86..(9.02) 10..(-)..R Sawina..Bydgoszcz..8.47..(-.--) So, the Aussie trio maintain a stranglehold at the top of the averages and Sawina replaces team mate Jonsson in the top 10. Subedei
Wow. The Polish authorities don't mess about, do they? A 6-month suspension for R Kasprzak. God alone knows what they'd have handed out to Ferjan if the Eastbourne fiasco had fallen under their jurisdiction. rabbit
Just thinking the same thing Subedei. Think the British authorities could take a leaf out of the Poles book here in dealing with incidents. Impressed with the severity and speed of things - might make a few riders over here think twice about a few things if they were going to get hit like that. It certainly is a deterrant. Will the younger Kasprzak now have to find himself a British league place to make up for the lack of earnings? rabbit
Robert Kasprzak was one name mentioned when I was told about the Young Guns Individual at Poole on the 3rd Aug. That was a couple of weeks ago and not confirmed but maybe he's looking to the EL at some stage - even earlier now if he's out for a while! Subedei
Robert Kasprzak was one name mentioned when I was told about the Young Guns Individual at Poole on the 3rd Aug. That was a couple of weeks ago and not confirmed but maybe he's looking to the EL at some stage - even earlier now if he's out for a while! He's not actually been in action for Leszno the last couple of rounds in Poland. The regulations in Poland allow teams to name a young rider at No 7, who although programmed for only one ride, is allowed to replace other riders during the racing. Leszno have named K Kasprzak at No 7 for the last couple of rounds and then used him to replace his brother in every heat he's programmed for. So, it shouldn't impact on Leszno that much. They'll name a no-hoper in place of R Kasprzak and then replace him with K Kasprzak who'll still be at No 7. The other notable No 7 in Polish speedway is young Kolodziej at champions Tarnow. rabbit
You've just answered a question that had fleetingly whizzed through my mind Subedei. Wondered why he'd been replaced in every one of his heats! Still that's some replacement to have in KK. Would be good to have the rules of Polish speedway explained one day to see how they differ from the British leagues.

Wondered why he'd been replaced in every one of his heats! Still that's some replacement to have in KK. Well, obviously they don't bother with a minimum 3 rides rule. I think the rules are basically the way were in Britain before all this double points nonsense came up. With all the teams racing on the same day, guests would seem out of the question, but rider replacement is allowed for your top 3 guys. If you're 6 points or more behind after Ht 4 you get to use tactical substitutes like in the old days over here. But, if you get excluded for 2 minutes or tapes, it's a 3 man race and you're not in it. No reserve replacement and no 15 metres nonsense. But Rico would know better than I. And Papa Bazarou and HenryW as well. Edited July 8, 2005 by Subedei
Subedei
And just in case you're wondering, there's no Polish Ekstra Liga action on 10 July, 2005. The fun and games start again, with the penultimate round of the regular season on 17 July, 2005.
Leliwa
Moving ahead to Sunday Extraliga matches, it appears that Tony will not make it to Wroclaw. Rumor is that Unia Tarnow is about to sigh with Scott Nicholls so he will replace Tony in Wroclaw. Unknown as to what kind of contract it is going to be, could be just for one meeting with options for more. Wroclaw is suppose to ride without Antonio, but it is not confirmed 100% yet. Anyway, it is going to be tough meeting for Unia regardless, our riders seem to have a lot of trouble on Wroclaw track, we will see how they manage on Sunday.
