Subedei
It always seems to be BP that's dumped into the fence. He'll be thinking the other riders don't like him soon.
pirate paul
. Pirate Poole Fan. Please see recent figures. 38 thousand lower than previous years. See motor cycling news. BSI will be looking at this. So by your maths then there was only about 2000 there this year? Hmmm, think you need a new calculator And once again, its pirate paul Edit, just seen your post Subedei, beat me to it by a long way! Hmmm, thinmk you need a new calculator I'm getting worried about the number of times we're agreeing tonight young fellow. Edit: That's a joke, by the way. I think we posted similar sentiments about 3 times in this thread. Edited July 9, 2005 by Subedei

Trees
the GPs would be a far more boring place without him and Nicki. Quote Millard: Nicki now known as the Laxative Man! I don't believe you typed that SL, I think Nicki now spoils the heats he is in because the riders can't ride how they really want to for fear of being knocked flying! Thought I'd already typed this but congrats to Tony, he's not playing on a particularly level playing field this season but he himself has tilted it in his direction so what can you say! As he said, thanks to his Penske friends in England ........................ he's got all of Sweden and now English engineers on his side!!!!! As far as the GP's are concerned I think if they change the scoring system then it will be better, oh yeah and cut the number of GP's to 6 so they are all special rather than just another meeting, they certainly aren't keeping all my younger family members interested! Funny how the Poole fans are claiming Trick as one of their own, I'd have thought the Ipswich fans have more right than them Edited July 9, 2005 by Trees

flyin'ryan
Think Middlo's got to seriously consider pairing Kasprzak and Lindback. They're both fliers and unlikely to get in each others way. BP, Sullivan and Ferjan just ride too conservatively for them. Whilst that would be fantastic entertainment, it would mean that i would have to seriously consider my well-being and move from the first bend to the back straight or home straight just to be on the safe side...either that or bring my own portable airfence to hide behind.... I'm serious. I would have: 1..Kasprzak 2..Lindback 3..Sullivan 4..Ferjan 5..B Pedersen BP to look after the reserves. Sullivan and Ferjan just get in Lindback's and Kasprzak's way if they hit the front, while both Lindback and Kasprzak are quick enough to keep out of each others way. Edit: Oh dear, a Poole takeover of the GP thread and it's all my fault. Edited July 9, 2005 by Subedei
flyin'ryan
Edit: Oh dear, a Poole takeover of the GP thread and it's all my fault. Yea you'll go getting us in (more) trouble....!! but yes i can see your point but can't help thinking that both would go for that outside line...both are pretty quick and fearless around poole and both like the ouside line riding the boards...having said that KK didn't seem all that happy with the lines Bjarne took when they were paired together..... Barne can team ride the reserves but bearing in mind one of them is Toby J that is some ask !!! KK should ride with him and attach a tow rope... SammyR
I saw the Fundin/Craven golden helmet clashes from 1960 onwards; I watched in awe as Ove won the '63 & '67 world finals at Wembley. I was there when Mauger had his golden years at Belle Vue. But TRick is winning the argument to be acclaimed the greatest speedway rider ever. Anyone who says they're bored watching this year's G.P.s, can't recognise sheer brilliance when they see it; it's predictable perhaps, but it's a testament to Tony's skill, ability and bravery. Star Fever
By Subedei It always seems to be BP that's dumped into the fence To be fair though he invites trouble doesn't he? If you leave enough room for a bus to pass, then a rider keen to win will endeavour to fill it. He admitted after the (almost identical) incident with NickiP that he was as much to blame by realising too late he had to close the gap - and he did the same with Lindback tonight. SCB
The Polish riders have often helped each other in these situations, and the Swedes, and the Americans, it's just a shame that the Brits are not in a position to do it! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Didn't see the heat where Mark Loram was finally crowned World Champion then? i'm sure Joe Screen shut off on the second bend. Not to mention about the same time (maybe the year before) that Havvy needed apoint in the intercontinental final and fell on the 1st bend, so when Martin Dugard on the last bend knew he could not qualify, he pulled onto the centre green so Havvy got the point and qualified for the GP Challenge. We have been in postions to do it and have done it, every country does it and always will. You can't beat Gollob (Poland) team riding with Povazhny(Russia) to keep Max (Sweden) out in the 2003(?) SWC. It failed on the last lap but to be fair he tried, amazing!!! Edited July 10, 2005 by SCB

I was just making the point that there are not enough good Brits out there to be in that position very often today. Harry Krishna
I have no idea who finished 2nd, 3rd or 4th last night because I turned the tv off as soon as Rickardsson hit the front yet again. Can't we weight him down a bit like they do to racehorses? How about making Billy Janniro ride pillion with him? Not only has Rickardsson dominated the GP's this year, it seems to me that the other leading contenders have now accepted defeat & have "eased off" somewhat. Having said that, commisserations to Scotty who rode brilliantly & had so much speed. Keep your head up Scotty, your time will come.
