The Sunday After The Bydgoszcz Gp

I know this is a little way off in the future, but was sitting in a bar in Copenhagen discussing with others plans for future GP weekends. Got round to talking about Sunday 28 August (the Sunday after Bydgoszcz). As far as I was concerned this date had been set aside for Polish League play offs, and looking at who might be racing against whom.

However I was told that on that day the only meeting in Poland was Leigh Adams Testimonial at Leszno.

Since coming home I have checked a number of Polish websites which still show this as being a play off date, allthough Leigh's testimonial is also shown as taking place on that day.

Anyone know anything for sure?

Swindon's programme from Thursday has it as the 28th in the fixture list. How cah this once great meeting be turned into such a waste of time like this. Still, that's speedway for you.

This is so daft! Either Swindon & BSPA have made a typo.... :( OR they've deliberately clashed with Polish fixtures..... OR there's something going on which we don't know about!

Maybe the fixtures in Poland have altered? I don't think there were any meetings due on the 21st, but the 28th was supposed to be a playoff date. I also heard some fans talking about Leigh's testamonial being the day after Bydgoscz.

I can't imagine that Swindon would let the BSPA run the ELRC at Blunsdon without their own rider, who is THE track specialist!?!?! Do you think they mean Mon 29th, which is a Bank Hol?

BTW, does anyone remember the announcement at last year's ELRC to keep your tickets as there would be some sort of "special deal"? Has anything come of this? Maybe the BSPA will give everyone free entry to this year's meeting, only to find that no-one is riding again  No - didn't think so!

I have sent e mails to the BSPA TWICE about this 'reduced' entry, and asking them why the date has been changed, but like you say are they hoping that no one will turn up??:angry: I have kept my tickets from last year waiting for a date to use them!!!! still angry!!!

The B S P A website fixtures have been updated to show the ELRC as 28th.

Can only assume that there are no Polish League fixtures now planned for that day. However that doesn't get away from the fact Leigh Adam's Testimonial is due to be run that day.

As I undertand it Messrs Crump, Sullivan, and Andersen have all accepted invitations to ride.

All seems very strange!

used my reduced entry tickets at the elite league best pairs meeting at Peterborough, had £3 off the admission price, was told when given ticket it could be used at either event

Apparently Leigh's testimonial was on 21st and so was the ELRC, so Leigh got his meeting changed to 28th so they did;nt clash, but the BSPA also got it changed so they did'nt clash, so now we still have both meetings on the same day.
