Dons fans from the era you used to go to Plough Lane on a regular basis what would your Dons Dream Team look like? I used to go every week in the 80s and the 90 and 91 season before they moved to Eastbourne that year so mine would look like.

1. Jessup

2 Simmo

3 Ferreira

4 Roger Johns

5 Jamie Luckhurst

6 Todd Wiltshire

7 Ray Morton

Team Manager Russell Lanning.

Like Norbold my loyalies lay with another South London team but I did see Ronnie Moore, How, Andrews and Maidment  ride for the same Wimbledon team several times. I think we can add Briggs and Mauger to that quartet for the 1958 season. I know that Peter Moore had moved to Ipswich by then but can anybody confirm that six out of the seven riders mentioned in Cecticman's team  actually rode together for Wimbledon?

Has to be said, not for the first time, that any inclusion of Mauger in a Wimbledon best 7 has no hold on the reality of his Wimbledon career, where his appearances were few and far between and not very good, and more to do with his career elsewhere. For the Dons, even including his re-appearance in 1963 where he was better than the 1950s, but doubt overall he averaged more than about 4pts, more often than not he had two rides and scored 0-2 pts

Yes, I can confirm that. They appeared in the same team in 1956, and also in a couple of challenge matches in 1959.

I think your team would probably come out on top but this one from the mid 60's onwards would give them a run for their money:

1. Sverre Harrfeldt
2. Dave Jessup
3. Gote Nordin
4. Edward Jancartz
5.Tommy Jansson
6.Olle Nygren
7. Reg Luckhurst/Trevor Hedge
