whippet_7
could anyone please tell me if you have to buy the tickets in advance or can you get them at Swindon at the meeting on July 31st? thankyou
shirls
It is best to get them in advance ,as there is only so many allocated and if they are all sold you will not be able to get in on the gate.
whippet_7
Thanks for the advice Shirls, but what happens in the event of a rain off ? it is unlikely that we are able to attend if the meeting is moved to a later date or is a refund available? Hazzman
Hopefully going to this one, not far from Leicester just a hour and half drive. Get tickets on the day. How much can Swindon hold? I dont expect it to be a sell-out with the high prices.

ha en bra födelsedag
Can anyone please say why Swindon are hosting the WTC. Its not a big enough stadium and the track isn't very good with hardly any passing taking place! The prices are sky high to get into a medioka stadium. I'll think i'll give the English round a miss...Poland here we come!
Hazzman
Swindon are hosting it after Coventry turn it down. Although one of the better tracks in the country, there is no seating. (You can only buy standing tickets) Surely not allowed under FIM Rules.
shortoi
Can anyone please say why Swindon are hosting the WTC. I'll think i'll give the English round a miss...Poland here we come! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mediocre. And the prices would be the same no matter where the event is hosted. It's an FIM event. Three reasons why Swindon are hosting the WTC: 1) The track is smooth, grippy and fast when properly graded and has provided some fantastic racing in the past. Although our stadium isn't the best the track is a damn sight better than Coventry's. 2) We have four bars. 3) Terry Russell is our promoter. He's probably got a lot of influence over this kind of thing. I would rather stand in a mediocre stadium and watch quality racing on a decent track than sit in a better stadium and watch processional racing on a poor track. pirate paul
2) We have four bars. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good enough for me! Ridiculous as it sounds it will be my first visit to Swindon. Anyone tell me how to get to the staduim from the M4?
heathen76
always enjoyed my visits to swindon, big track, grippy, and given good weather, fair for all-not been for a few years since the robins/heathens holiday monday double headers-but more than likely going to this one(with several mates of the "kennel dwelling" variety!)wont be driving ,so glad to hear about the four bars!! SuzieQ
Mediocre. And the prices would be the same no matter where the event is hosted. It's an FIM event. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> WRONG! I have already purchased the tickets for the Race-off and Final in Poland and I can tell you now they were 10 times cheaper than this country! 4 tickets for the race-off total price 60.00 zloty = £9.44 4 tickets for the final total price 120.00 zloty = £19.
whippet_7
Now that i dont know, will see if i can find out for you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We got in touch with David Prowse at Swindon, he said if there was a rain off it will be run the following day Aug 1st at 7.30pm, also tickets will be on sale on the day but expect a big queue and a possible sell out, so we decided to buy in advance looking forward to it now. Sandie
Although our stadium isn't the best the track is a damn sight better than Coventry's. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With respect Az - how can you say your stadium is better than Coventry's. I love coming to Swindon but the Coventry facilites are very high class. Good enough for me! Ridiculous as it sounds it will be my first visit to Swindon. Anyone tell me how to get to the staduim from the M4? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its easy PP - turn left!!! It isnt far from the motorway at all. Junction 15 onto the A419 and keep going. Pick up signs for Blunsdon and the stadium will be signposted of the A419
