Yes, of course! They won't have the support of the british fans as they would if they rode over here!

OK, I'll pop in a few commas, they won't have the support of the british fans, as they would, if they rode over here! Perhaps adding "same" before support would help.

why not?

Pretty obvious really I thought ...........

perhaps it's because you're "just a bloke" that you don't understand? :approve:

I read through this and all I get is soour grapes because Belle Vues beloved number one croaked out of holding onto his one off World Title.

Also makes me laugh when I read about patriotic Manchurians. Sure, cheering on a bloody AUSSIE!

Now where is that pic I dig out once a month?

Aarhhh! here it is!

sourgrapes.jpg

The noise where I was when Tony won the meeting was deafening. The whole area erupted and gave him a standing ovation, except for a couple of BV fans too busy sticking the v's up and using rough people's language.

Crump rode like a turkey and got his just rewards, the loss of his one off crown.

HAIL KING TONY RICKARDSSON, 2005 AND 6 TIMES WORLD CHAMPION.

Sounds just great to me. Here's to number 7 next year, to prove he is the best speedway rider ever to grace the stage. :approve:

Just another glory seeker latching onto the the current leader having yet another cheap shot.

No doubt you were a Mauger fan, then Gundersen, then Nielsen and you probably shouted loudly for Egon Muller, another exile of British speedway who became world champ. You probably bought a Chelsea shirt when they became champions closely followed by a Liverpool shirt, no doubt there are several Man U shirts also.

Still I can understand it, having never had any real home grown local talent to cheer you have to make do.

Drop a cog, what's your problem?

King Tony was a fantastic ambassador for the Pirates, and hence fully deserves our support. (He was voted "Greatest All-time Pirate" last year), so just not "another exile", as you put it.

Glory seeker? Hardly!!! When King Trick won title no.4 in 2001, I attended 2 GP's (British and Swedish), and Mr Shovlar attended ALL 6!!! (yes, count them)

On the subject of football, don't be so pig ignorant! I know Steve's supported his be-loved Swindon Town, through thick and thin, and I've supported Man Utd since the age 7. I know he would stay loyal to his club, same as me!

Don't get me wrong-I love to see King Trick do well, however, I would love to see a Brit become World Champ again, even more!-But the fact is none of our boys are good enough at the moment. (even so, they were still given our full support on Saturday night-to the point that, I even had £10 on Lee Richardson!)

Finally, Just for the record, Mr Shovlar and I agree that the best meeting we've ever attended, was when Mark Loram became World Champ at Bydgoszcz, in 2000. I even put my money where my mouth was, by betting £100-and winning £500. That's how much I wanted mark to win!

Question is Drop a cog, were you there as well? B)

Oh dear, you really don't know anything about me do you!

Thanks to Mr Yates for sticking up for me but I can answer this one myself.

A glory seeker? No it's just good fortune that i support the worlds best rider and the UKs best speedway team.

I also supported Poole when we were rock bottom of the league a few years ago, and will no doubt still be supporting them when we end up having a duff season in the future.

I have never been a glory seeker. I support Swindon Town in the football so how can I be classed as that? One year in the premier, probably never to be repeated!

In 2001 I went to every GP supporting Mark Loram. Every one. I was there in Bydgoszsz when Mark lifted the trophy, and what a night that was.

But I have been a TRick fan for years. His time at Poole confirmed that I would cheer him on whilst he was still competing in the GP series, and I am still here today doing the same.

If he rode for Belle Vue I would still be cheering him on. Would you have a problem then? No of course not because you would be cheering him as well.

You reek of double standards. You support Crump, a bloody Aussie for gods sake, whilst I support a European.

So go on cheering for your Aussie. His days have gone. Cream always rises to the top and this year it's double cream, with a cherry on top as far as I am concerned. Poole top of the league, and TRick top of the GP series.

The view from the crows nest from this pirate ship is just great. :approve:

Jeez these Crump fans give you a headache! They get so tetchy!

Personally the first time I watched a Speedway GP my faves (apart from Brits of course) were Rickardson and Gollob. Still are. Also, being a beginner to speedway at the time (4 years ago) I didn't know he was a world champion - I just thought he seemed nice and he rode brilliantly and that's it.

Crump fans are just jealous!

(On another note the first gp i watched I disliked Carl Stonehewer from the start haha!)

I see you've got the measure of the our very own "Ginger Whinger" (complete with tantrums) already. You’ve only been on the site a few weeks but have noticed how (unintentionally) amusing he is and how very very wrong he always is.

Jason and Steve, sitting in a tree K.I.S.S.I.N.G. HaHaHa.

Oh dear, how very pathetic this all is.

Glory seeker? Supported the Pirates every season since 1975, even when we hit rock bottom in 1983/1984.

King Trick, was voted the "Greatest ever Pirate of all time" by a poll carried out by the local paper. (The Echo) Around 3,500 supporters bothered to vote. So, a worthy winner in my book.

Been to Old Trafford around 20 times. Oh-I'm sorry, I will try to live a bit nearer!

Let's be honest here, would you want to support AFC Poole Town (If that's what the're even called now!)

If you bothered to goto "spec savers", and look thro you sheer arrogance, you would notice I've been on this forum for 20 months.

.....and I'm not ginger!

Ouch please grow up, you sound like a over-active jealous teenager!

Or is it just low IQ?

You could prove me wrong.

P.S- Just so you know. Captain Simmo was my "Greatest ever Pirate."

King Trick came second, Loram third-Ahh, that reminds me.... Riders abandoning clubs for sheer greed.

Rickardsson is a brilliant rider but he is not as popular as he would have been had he committed to a full British season. He suffered almost as much booing as Pedersen for his antics in the race with Norris.

The greatest all time pirate? Are you sure Mauger didn’t guest for you in the past. You have a rider for a couple of seasons and he the greatest of all time, he even walked out on Poole halfway through a season! That just sums up the current fan base your team is currently enjoying, out of the woodwork to watch a winning team. The true Poole fans must have been horrified when that result was announced when you have had such great and LOYAL riders as Simmo for instance. As I said GLORY SEEKERS!

Ummm... I'm not trying to stick up for Steve Shovlar here, however, Tony rickardsson did ride for Poole Steve's local team, fine he had to leave Poole, however, that doesn't mean as soon as a rider stops riding for the team you support, you stop supporting them, does it? Tony Rickardsson is a good rider, why stop supporting him because of that?

Actually you got me there.

Those bloody Aussies, speaking English, driving on the left with the Queens head on the bank notes. Bloody foreigners. Now give me those famous anglophiles from Sweden and Denmark any day of the week.

We agree at last.

Just thought, Crumpys even worse, he was born in Bristol for Christ sake.
