Hazzman
According to the Sun newspaper, TRick's incredible wall of death was down to his Penski designed bike.
orion
W how can you say you could not go round the outside? by the later stages all the top riders were picking the outside gates and rideing right next to the the fence You won't get a better temp track than you did at cardiff it just won't happen and if you look at the wroclaw and krsko gp's they were crap with no passing at all cardiff was much better ! All the riders have been complaining about the tracks being too hard and slick and they are detuning their engines most nights to get better traction. He's got a great frame and engine combination and is managing to use it more effectively than the others. He has more confidence in himself and the bike under him. That's why he's winning and also explains the "wall of death" move.
Hackett
To be honest although people are moaning about the racing at Cardiff. Think about the way Ole Olsen has raped the Krsko and Eskilstuna tracks of any dirt !!!! Norris when he breathed on Tricks stated that the track was so slick the only way you could pass was under them early on ... a little dirt moved out but not significant. Plus being a temporary track I felt it held up ok considering. The tracks have been p=ss poor all season so Cardiff was as expected great atmospher, good spectacle for the Sky cameras with plenty of incidents to discuss. Plus a referee you could only ????? Gemini
Quote Well the atmosphere seems brilliant tonight I am sure our fellow forumers are making loads of noise but the track is no good for passing. Sorry, but I don't agree with that. I thought it was the best G.P. yet with plenty of passing. Having now watched the Sky broadcast as well there were only 3 heats when there was no passing - heats 10, 18 and the re-run of the 2nd semi-final when there were only three riders. Not bad for 23 heats racing and there aren't many league matches on "proper" tracks where you would see that amount of passing. Brilliant stuff. The difference between great, and a Legend! IMO, the best British GP I've ever seen-Can't wait for next year. Trees
"King Trick" was lucky that he stayed on in the final, he certainly didn't plan to do what he did for gords sake! Yes I agree he has had that something "extra" over the last 10 years in world championship meetings. I will never forget that in 1999 when he rode for King's Lynn, Leigh Adams was the master, not him, ask any Lynn fan!!
