Lioness
From http://www.british-speedway.co.uk/ "BRITISH youngsters Edward Kennett and Simon Stead will get a taste of the big-time... by taking their place as reserves at the FIM British Grand Prix next month. Both riders have been nominated by British boss Neil Middleditch to enjoy the magic of the Millennium Stadium on Saturday, June 11. Middleditch said: "It can only be a good experience to be there on the night, rubbing shoulders with the world's best.” I fully agree with Simon Stead getting one place but why Kennett? SCB
Stead, yeah, fair enough might get a point if he gets a ride but Kennett will be spat out of the back. They'd have bene better off giving the chance to a local of a similar standard, Phil Morris!! I don't care about the bullrubbish about have big futures, why not give Jamie Westacott a chance? Local and I'm sure he's got a big future in the sport.
ReadingRacer05
SCB, i agree with you. I think they could of chosen a better rider than him. Wonder how much Len Silver paid Neil to get him in the GP's.. Maybe a few ski hoidays also chucked in on the deal.
shazzybird
At the end of the day Edward is not a wildcard he's a reserve! He rides in EL that means he rides against the "Big Boys" there so why not Cardiff? Good Luck Edward, enjoy the day and the experience, we'll take Dad to the pub and you can have Uncle Barney spanner for you Oops Just texted Uncle Barney to say how great it is and.................. oh dear he didn't know Edited May 20, 2005 by shazzybird

In Ed's favour is the fact that it is a small tight track which requires lightening gating but all of that is irrelevant anyway because they probably wont get a ride - what is relevant though is that they get to take their place in the pits and see what it is all about - just how many people Jason and Tony have in the crew - the standard of the machinery and the size of the motorhomes

tomhaines
Why not David Howe? or Chris Harris?
rabbit
Maybe because they've been there, seen it and done it already with the British GP in recent years. Perhaps Middlo has gone for Steady as he is the obvious choice and for Eddie so he has a chance to see what it's all about on the big stage - plus as someone mentioned as a pat on the back for being U21 Champ. Just a thought...
