I wont bother with giving out my number and stuff... Sam's Bar is pretty easy to find. (Well, it was for me the first time I went there). There's usually a map, or pictures of what the pubs look like posted on the forum, before the Cardiff GP... does anyone have these? :\ Once you find the pub, you'll know where the forum lot are... just look for me, you know what I look like. Steve Turner
On the picture file below, you'll find Sam's Bar at 'A' - the Prince of Wales at 'B' - oh and the racing's at 'C' apparently So it's as easy at ABC...

Nevs
After weeks of fruitlessly searching I struck lucky today.I've booked my pal and myself into Cardiff Backpackers hostel, Not ideal, but it looked as if we would have to sleep in the car. Anyone still without a bed might want to try there. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have you discussed this with your mate Sam or just assumed it is ok.I think you should.Always best to be open and upfront They may prefer to stay home and watch it on Sky. youngy105
Going on the coach from Belle Vue on the Saturday morning. Sitting above the pits (i think)....where does everyone meet up...would be nice to put faces to names and have a good banter and drink (obviously). Oh...and Jason Crump will defend his title. seanisnumber1
Oh...and Jason Crump will defend his title. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hope ya mean his world title cos Hancock won at Cardiff last year!! Anyway he won't cos Rickardsson will have number 6!!
TheCedarMan
For what it's worth I don't have a seat number but will be in the box above the pits on the first bend, think it's box C12 or C22 not worried because I'll get in which one matters or I'll squat if I have to! I'll be the quiet one standing a lot and shouting!
woody-the-bee
I'll be the quiet one standing a lot and shouting! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Errrm.....
TheCedarMan
Woody, you've obviously never met me, quiet first then louder with every drink On a seperate issue, I've seen somwhere on the forum about people watching the practice, I thought it was behind closed doors. Is it now open?
SCB
AFAIK, it's behind closed doors but it has bene possible to charm your way in. I cant see the attraction of practice myself, seeing the rider doing 8(?) laps each in an empty stadium, it just not the same.
Star Lady
AFAIK, it's behind closed doors but it has bene possible to charm your way in. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Or just walk in thro a door someone had left open Agreed it's pretty boring but it's the being somewhere you are not supposed to be that makes it more interesting

I cant see the attraction of practice myself, seeing the rider doing 8(?) laps each in an empty stadium, it just not the same. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think its more than that from what i remember- 2 minutes a time for each group of 4 riders....over and over.. It goes for 2 and a hlaf hours so theres a fair bit of time imo. It certainly isn't much of a spectacle tho - we left early the first two years and got plastered big style up in an executive box last year which helped us miss most of the "racing". Still - if anyone can charm their way in without passes etc, its certainly an eye opener. Having a free run of the stadium to do pretty much as you please is a fair olf feeling - one i'll never forget thats for sure..
