Mick Dundee
Great night for Crump, him and Tony are looking like the ones to beat so far. No defence of Nicki Pedersen, it was a bad move and he was rightfully excluded, its his attitude that I cant get over. He didnt seem in the slightest bit bothered hed just rammed the side of one of his Danish team mates, a move which could have injured him. Decent GP overall though, Scotty was just unlucky and no doubt hell pick it up for the next round.

Subedei
Fantastic.......that is very funny.....you didnt even spot that Hancock didnt get in the semis. Good point. especially as in an ironic twist Scott would have been in the semis had Lindback been rightfully excluded. Bad point. If Lindback had been rightfully excluded (and replays clearly showed he did touch the tapes first) it would have changed the course of not only that race, but all the following races including riders from that race. Nicholls might have made the semi-finals, but he might not have. We'll never know. As for Nicki....desperation move.....in my opinion.....which is fine as long as he dosent mind them moves being made on him...which surely one day they will. Agreed. It was a bit of a desperate effort, but he had nothing to lose. He was 4th in the race and no matter what happened he was still 4th in the race. If it was any of us that their son or daughter came last in an egg and spoon race would we be happy if someone called them 'a waste of space'? I'm sure that Mr and Mrs Jonsson were beaming with pride as their son swore his way through an interview. That said, I personally think it was unfair for the television people to stick a microphone under the fellow's nose at such a time. This needs to be looked at by the authorities. garf
So what is wrong swearing on TV ? I don't think you can find one movie broadcasted without any "bad words", so why should riders, and other people getting interviewed, put up a way of talking they might not be practising normally ? If the viewers are not willing to listen to the interviews, just go out the room or turn to another channel or maybe contact the station and tell them not to interview certain people. They might be able to find a priest or similar that will not be using any of the bad words, but then you might let me know how many people are going to watch that interview. Many of the complains about the riders language are probably from people just sitting and waiting for the bad words to come so they will have an opportunity to "ride the high horse" letting everyone know how perfect they are. Just bear in mind : Different nationalities gives different standards. So don't try to put other people into the same boxes you are putting your fellow country-men. Subedei
Then what is wrong with swearing on this forum garf? If you swear, generally, you'll get a warning. Now are you suggesting that people from outside the UK should be allowed to swear on this forum but not Britons? Liontamer
if bjarne wasnt there then nicki would have went straight into he fence & the English fans have the gall to take the pee out of a Dane speaking their language.

It is usually pretty difficult to swear through a keyboard. It probably takes to long time to write the thoughts and then the "gas has left the balloon". I'm just a bit tired of all the complains about how other people are talking etc. Don't get me wrong. I'm not a supporter of "bad language" at all, but lots of the younger people (speed-way riders are not the oldest) are learning a lot through the television and the movies here. So what they hear is what they think is a normal way of speaking.
Subedei
I have some sympathy with Jonsson on this occasion. He shouldn't have swore. But at the same time he shouldn't have had a microphone shoved up his nose at that time.
AndyM
Sky TV probably loves it. They deserved a mouthful the time they secretly filmed Crumpie after he'd been knocked out of a GP disastrously early. Nothing they like better than a punch-up or a slanging match, saddos that they are!
Subedei
I assume it was a Swedish broadcaster responsible for the footage. And it looked as if they were angling for a Jonsson reaction during the meeting. It always seemed that in a "quiet" moment, they'd cut to a shot of Jonsson in his pits. SCB
for the boring Nicholls knockers out there he was mighty close for someone who was gating badly - I reckon if viewed again there wont be many who made more passes (not sure he would have scored any in his first though as gate 3 was a dog) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Surely thats a oontradiction? If he was not gating off gates 1,2 or 4 yet scoring points, he may have scored a few points off gate 3, by passing! He didnt fence Bjarne! They was going for the same bit of track! Nicki saw a gap and went for it and unfortunatly Bjarne came off! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bjarne hit the airfence, Bjarne was fenced, simple fact that cannot be denied. Was it done wrecklessly or not? Now that can be argueed, I thought it was. That said, I personally think it was unfair for the television people to stick a microphone under the fellow's nose at such a time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, AJ was in the interview area, they had not sent someone up to AJ and shoved a camera up his nose like they used to with Crumpy or when Nicki has bene caught swearing. AJ had walked into the interview area/box, either than or he was dragged kciking and screaming and was chained to the floor.

a61
I had a fantastic time. My first foreign GP, and hopefully my first of many. Thanks Chivs (and everyone who went) All I have to say is: - Win or lose, no rider should act like AJ did on live TV. Maybe in private, but not in front of all his fans. That's just plain unprofessional. Is he still having bike problems? - I can't blame Tony for being annoyed about not winning the final. He must be gutted. - I didn't see what happened with Nicki and Bjarne, but it wouldn't be the first time Nicki has got himself into this situation. - It was great to see Rune Holta riding, albeit if he only scored a handful of points. - I feel really bad for Scotty. He really did give it all he's got. - Kenneth Bjerre was impressive. - Gate 3 was really not working for anybody. Is there anyone who has the heat' times of yesterday's GP ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I do. I stil believe a red and yellow card system should come in Agreed. There needs to be some form of disciplinary procedure for the grands prix series. Look at last season's grands prix series. Crump excluded for falling on the first bend in Gothenburg, but no action for the kick aimed at Pedersen in the run to the 1st corner. This could end up with a very serious accident, unless real sanctions are introduced, including possible exclusion from the following grand prix. AndyM
Anyone notice today's BSPA press release? CRUMP-CHANGES WORKED!Sunday, May 15, 2005 JASON Crump admitted that he had made major alterations to his set-up during the Swedish Grand Prix before taking victory at Eskilstuna. Crump said: "I wasn't happy with my bikes early on and made some changes. The gates changed quite a lot as the meeting went on. But I was determined to give it everything, I had nothing to lose, and things went well for me in the re-run."

tarabanko
The time in the final heat was: 61.6 I see that no one has seen the bottle been throwd at Jason Crump at the parade after the final. You may have seen that Jason was pointing with his flag into the audience? Jason was not hitted but the brand new BMW that Jason sat in. They got the man who throwd the bottle. I do hope the man is not from Eskilstuna. So really stupid done of him. The meeting then was really good, close and hard racing. Tony Rickardsson was a man on mission, damn so good he was yesterday, shame that he didnt win the final. Cant describe the sound then Rickardsson overtook first Andreas Jonsson and then Kenneth Bjerre, it was gooseskin all over. The crowd reported was 15.000 and dont know if it are correct but there was a massive crowd.
