BROCK
Just heard some good news from Sweden that Jonsson, who was too injured to ride at Poole on Wednesday, and Hancock who was too injured to ride at Oxo last night (thursday), have both made miraculous recoveries and both rode well in the GP practice. Well done to both of you. Nice to see them both fit and well again.
Sandie
May I add my sincere (not) congratulations to Mr Jonsson for this superb return to fitness!!!
BROCK
also just heard that Hancock was doing a few wheelies for fun. Probably to test his injured shoulder to make sure it is allright for racing.
Silver Bee
Thought it was AJ with the bad shoulder.... I get the feeling there was never anything wrong with Greg or AJ.........
Ryan
Greg's wife delivered a baby yesterday. I think seeing the birth of his son is a little more important than a meeting. His wheelies were probably his excitement over being a dad for the first time.

Silver Bee
Good news for Greg, would have understood more if he had just said that he wasn't riding due to that. Mind you, suppose we couldn't have had a guest

ballinger
Question to all forum members :  Have you ever been involved in a car accident from which you escaped relatively unhurt ?  Allow me to tell you a story  In May 03 we were involved in a smash just a mile from the speedway track at Terenzano in Italy, when a Porsche 924 decided to ram us on a busy intersection.  An ambulance ride and a hospital visit later fortunately identified nothing but bruising, and we were infact able to go to the meeting at Terenzano that evening.  Unfortunately it was a different story the next morning when the shock came out in our systems, and the full extent of the bruising began to show, that it neccessitated an immediate curtailment to our holiday and a flight back to Blighty as soon as we could.  Subsequent check ups recognised whiplash injuries that required extensive physiotherapy and a sustantial time off work.  Regarding Andreas Jonsson's crash on Tuesday night, there is no doubt that he was involved in a crash, and photographic evidence suggests it was quite a spectacular one, indeed it was bad enough for Jarek Hampel to break a thumb and to be forced out of the GP tomorrow.  Fair enough, Jonsson went out next race and won that, but in these situations your body gets pumped with so much adrenaline that you are able to cope with the here and now.  Its only subsequently that the true extent of any injury comes to the surface, and you realise what's happened to you.  People are quick to criticise, and its sad inditement of folk who always look at the negative, or suggest that Speedway riders are "swinging the lead", when infact these guys are falling off motorcycles at 70mph with little protection, and are sometimes lucky to get away with relatively minor injuries given the extent of impact they put their bodies through.  So, good luck tomorrow to all competitors at Eskilstuna, including Andreas Jonsson, let's hope a memorable Speedway occassion takes place befitting of the World Championship.  PS ; Congratulations also to Mr & Mrs Hancock, as a recent father myself I can tell you its now that the fun really begins ! Steve Turner
Nice one Pete, I've been holding back on saying something against quite a few ridiculous posts on this subject. Â Funnily enough, I was thinking about your Italy crash the other day on the way to Poole...had a crash myself, down on the M27...wondered whether to carry on...then I remembered our texts after your crash and thought, of course I'm going to Poole ! HenryW
I'm glad to see someone finally add some perspective to this ridiculous slagging of AJ. Personally, I have never jumped off of a motorcyle quite as fast as I'm sure AJ was going in Sweden, but I'm pretty damn sure that it hurts! Â I'm also pretty sure that the last thing I'd want to do for the next couple of days is sit around an airport and get a couple of flights, not to mention jumping on a bike and racing the next day. Â So the guy wasn't fit to go to work on Wendesday, but was fit enough for Friday! So what? Can everyone who has slated AJ honestly say that they have never had a day off sick and been back at work a few days later? Â Let's also not forget that AJ made it clear that he didn't want to commit to the British League this year, but only came back to bail out the Bees because they couldn't find a replacement. Some of the Coventry fans who have been taking a pop at him might want to consider how bad their season would have been without him!! Subedei
Subsequent check ups recognised whiplash injuries that required extensive physiotherapy and a sustantial time off work. Â Thing is, Jonsson is going to be back at work a couple of days later. Is that "substantial"? Edited May 14, 2005 by Subedei
Sandie
Perspective ... You say get some perspective!! Â Andreas informed England immediately after the fixture that he would not be riding on the Wednesday and in the same phone call said he would be okay for the GP. Whiplash in his case came on instantly after heat 15 was complete and he knew it wold be gone by GP practice on the Friday. Wish I had his Doctor! Â I am a supporter of the guy but I disapprove with the way he is using Coventry. Â And for the record - it is a shoulder injury he has claimed and apparently it is 'bruised and sore' - not whiplash as far as I am aware. HenryW
I might be wrong, but I don't think ballinger was suggesting that AJ actually had suffered whiplash, merely that it's quite likely that he would have suffered some injury in a crash like that. The guy has made it clear the Britain was not his top priority this year and so if he suffers any injury he is likely to take the cautious option of taking a few days rest to ensure his fitness for the GP series. As I said in my post earlier, AJ is the one doing Coventry a favour at the moment. I'm sure if they could have found a replacement at the start of the season they wouldn't have pressured him in to returning. Given AJs relunctance to race here this season, do you not think that maybe Coventry could have worked their fixture list a little better than asking him to do Poland-Britain-Sweden-Britain-Sweden during a GP week? I'm sure if they could have found a replacement at the start of the season they wouldn't have pressured him in to returning. Â He's not doing anyone any favours, least of all himself. He's got no chance of being champ while he takes this attitude. He wants to have a long hard look at the champ - never gives anything less than 100% no matter which team he's riding for. Jonsson's a talent, I'll give you that. But that's about all he's got. And it's never enough. Ask all the "future" world champs that never were. Unless he bucks his ideas up a few notches, Jonsson will be joining that list.
ha en bra födelsedag
C'mon Bees fan, give AJ a break, put yourself in his shoes!! I know its really annoying that he didn't ride for us, but Coventry have had some weird tackticks of late about averages, and I dont see anyone moaning about that!  I will be chearing AJ on as usual tonight.  o, and Congrats. to Mr and Mrs Greg Hancock on there new arrival! ballinger
To confirm, I wasn't suggesting for a moment that Jonsson had suffered whiplash, more drawing comparison from my own personal experience when I suffered physical injury, and that the true extent of the injuries only became apparent in the days after the crash Edited May 16, 2005 by ballinger
