when theres no passing i'm usually bored by the 3rd lap, so 6 laps would not suit me at all. lol

so you should agree with me that speedway needs spicing up some , every year there are changes with race formats / points limits etc etc , trying to make speedway more appealing to new / next generation supporters , well it hasnt worked that well has it , i just thought maybe 6 lap races might make it less prodictable & more of a specticle , but i do like the wet sponge idea too

I think you should have eight man teams, eight riders to a heat, two heats of sixteen laps. Points scored are 8 down to 1. Any eight riders for each side would do. ( A bit like meetins before a grand prix weekend)

The meeting would be over in fifteen minutes, twenty at the maximum. The aggregate scores of the team riders would provide the result. No re-runs for falling riders. If a rider comes off 1 point is given to the opposing team. Race would not be stopped but simply slowed down to allow the debris to be removed from the track.

In event of a draw the fans can nominate riders on leaving the stadium (no postal ballots allowed) and after a recount the following morning the BSPA could declare a result. Save problems with the weather, ballot result could be declared by each promoter having a vote.

The paying public would get to see 32 laps of speedway for half the price and still have time to do something else in the evening.

Why not get the opposition to throw wet sponges at the riders as they ride past?

can imagine the first sky match now. Race is stopped as Dean Barker hits the deck after a well aimed shot by Josh Larsen.

on comes the replay, queue Sudden Sam.

Leigh was huggin that white line, Deano windin it on around the outside but just look at josh, he's thinko ok deano my teams on a 5-1 right now you aint takin this from us, look at him now gettin some moisture on that sponge and there it goes flyin through the and whamo right on the side of deano's head and his race is over

Would like to see the 6 lap theory given a go. The only way to really know is to test out over a period. Why not test it out just in a different comp like KO Cup, craven or even in the CL.

Do some people even read a thread? Or attend speedway? It was tried for a season and was boring, most of the passing in speedway is done in the first couple of laps so two extra were boring with riders just riding around following each other.
