SCB
There would be uproar as to who rides at what position in each team though. Why? If every team decides to ptu there best 2 riders in reserve, so what? Thats what the best managers will do, it shouldn't matter too much as all teams woudl do it. Even not bother having reserve, have a non-riding reserve who can have up to the same numebr of rides as the programmed riders. Whats wrong with the old test-match format? Tried, trusted and bloody good! While the logistics of a SWC like this would make it difficult, if feel it's better as having a team meeting where you never ride as a team just ride against 3 other teams, it's a bit mickey mouse as one team can be 7 down and another 8 and the team 8 down can use a joker (I thikn it's 8 down) and pass the team who are 7 down, the team who are 7 down never go 8 down so dont get a joker and might lose the meeting by a point to the team who were 8 down at one point. At least team vs team you can only use a joker if you are 8 down behind ALL other teams in that meeting as there is only one other team. Rather than hold it in a week, why not making a season long thing? Start in March/April and end in October and spread it around Europe? Diesel
What about Hans Andersen? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think the point of the post was to select each countries team, just to give an example of the format suggested.

Richspeedway
I think that be good idea but you could start with maybe 16 nations to give the lower countries a go at it. Ok you may say why should Italy, Hungary, France etc be in it but if you don't enter them the sport won't grow. It would be good to have it as a league meeting with maybe two legs so each has home advantage. The first round you would have the more respected nations like GB, Denmark, Poland etc seeded and drawn against the lower Finland, Hungary etc so that no-one can moan that in the first round they face a top nation. That would also attract crowds and hopfully help the sport in some countires as for example Slovenia v Australia then local fans would go and help the sport there. You would have 7 riders with maybe 2 on the verge just incase of injury etc. Then after the first round go down to the final. I think that the other idea would be good to help young talent and developing speedway countries get noticed. So here like a example of what I mean with the left nation the seeded but the first leg would be away to help the lower nation maybe get a advantage as at home instead of losing 60-20 or something in first leg away. Or if you had enough nations you could do league with promotion relegation with 6 in a league and every month couple of fixtures so there would be about 3-4 divisions with all nations competing to be in the top league of nations
