Guest Shale Eater
With the GP's getting closer when will they announce the wildcards? My tips are Polish rounds - Krys Kasprzak & Robert Miskowiak Swedish rounds - Peter Karlsson & Freddie Lindgren Denmark - Niels K Iversen GB - Mark Loram or Floppy Norris Slovenia - Matej Zagar Czech - One of the Drymls Italy - ????????? Any suggestions?
Subedei
They already announced Miskowiak for Wroclaw. Think the Poles might go for a Rempala at Bydgoszcz - Kasprzak had his chance last season. Think the Danes will go with Kenneth Bjerre (if a GP series reserve can be included as a wild card) in Copenhagen. Think Zagar is a "no brainer" for Slovenia - if fit. Think Britain will give Norris or Loram the nod, but should give it to Stead. Who knows who the Swedes will go for, probably Max, Karlsson or Lindgren, with a possible outside chance for Alden (who would probably get the nod in Poland). Italy - God alone knows. Czechs will probably go for Ales Dryml. Edited April 18, 2005 by Subedei
shaggie
Speedway choice on merit must go to Norris, Fans choice would go to Loram. BSI are all about generating money so it will go to Loram if fit.
Subedei
You're probably right. But on speedway merit Wroclaw would surely have gone to Protasiewicz. Miskowiak, as said on another thread is Under 21 champ and probably deserved a go, but I wager Pepe doesn't get a sniff at Bydgoszcz no matter how well he is doing. The Poles always seem to go young for their wild cards.
Cornishman
italy - emiliano sanchez please!
SCB
I'd prefer to watch Floppy at Cardiff rather than see Mark Loram ride around at the back looking nothing like the GP rider he was 5 years ago. It's stil new to Floppy and he'll be keen to do more than last season.
Bandits4eva
id rather see floppy too... loram is a good guy of the sport and will go for it but in my opinion floppy is still as hungry as ever for success... and he was the most entertaining rider by far last year .... more of the same this year and id be happy
Silver Bee
I would rather see floppy at cardiff. Loram won't even be fully fit by then and the idea with wildcards is they are given to people who haven't been in the g.p's before. Which is why no pepe in the 1st round. I personally would go for Iversen over Bjerre. Iversen is much more consistant and think Bjerre will start to slack a bit now.
SCB
SC, I'd pick Iversen over Bjerre too I don't think we're too biased either are we?!

superjoe
i would prefer to see younger riders given wildcard slots this year but it seems to be if your face fits your in. Same with scrapping the gp challenge and just selecting riders to go back into the gps.

Cornishman
loram definately should not have the cardiff wildcard. hes had enough chances. i reckon it should be simon stead on current form....although floppy would be my choice (unless they wnat to give bomber a go of course )

Last year was appalling - don't know who made the decision, but it seemed to be done by who owed who a favour. Since Simon Stead, David Howe and others have had a go in the past, how about giving an opportunity to the likes of James Wright? Never too soon to soak up the atmosphere of a GP. SCB
I don't fancy paying to watch James Wright blow out of the water in a GP. I like to watch a meeting where everyone is competitive. Let James have a few laps on his own while the Sky adverts are shown if you want him to "soak up the atmosphere", he can race against Danny King, Simon Stead and David Howe who are also not capable of riding in such a big meeting. Wildcards should be about picking a decemt rider who is in with a chance of actually beating someone, preferably even wining a heat, which Floppy is, James Wright would score 0,0,0,0,0 (barring EF's) and not be the least bit entertaining. Prehaps I shoudl eb given a wildcard? I'm local, I'm yougn and you neevr know, one day I might be good enough to be in a GP.
Silver Bee
James Wright is out of his depth in the grand prix!!!!! You cannot put someone like James Wright in. Noit even in an EL 1 to seven. He's an elite leahue reserve for the reserves. I think bomber could well get it if he carrys on the form he is getting at the moment and Havvy deserves a chance IMO. After seeing him at Oxford where he rarely scores many points out wide and cutting it back, will be interesting to see if he gets it.
