eM_Pe
Hello everyone! I'm a Polish speedway fan. My favourite team is KS Unia Leszno. I'm going to post here the most important facts about it's results, etc. I don't expect huge crowd in this topic, but maybe some Pirates', Robins' or Wolves' supporters would like to know how Kasprzak, Adams or Skornicki are doing in Polish Extraleague. As far as I remember also Lukasz Jankowski had a short tete a tete with British speedway, he rode some heats for Oxford, King's Lynn and Arena Essex, I feel. This season began very badly for our team, when Rafal Dobrucki, former Oxford's rider, seriously hurt his backbone in a friendly match against RKM Rybnik. On Sunday, 10th of April, Leszno had to face Apator Torun. We all expected a quite confident victory, as Torun doesn't seem to be very strong this year. Visitors brought the best squad they could, with Jason Crump, Wieslaw Jagus and impressive U21 riders - Miedzinski and Zabik. After a quite interesting match Unia managed to beat Apator by 51:39. Leszno has been leading since the beginning of this clash and I find this victory fully deserved, but the bonus point is quite uncertain. APATOR Torun 1. Jason Crump (2,3,2,3,3,1') 14+1 - very good riding by Jason, won once and lost twice against Adams, sensationally beaten by young Robert Kasprzak, 2. Andy Smith (0,1,0,-,-) 1 - full of ambition, but that's just not enough, 3. Mariusz Puszakowski (EF,1,0,1',1) 3+1 - very poor performance, but managed to beat Krzysztof Kaprzak once, 4. Marcin Jagus (1,-,-,-) 1 - poor, but that's just what we expected 5. Wieslaw Jagus (3,2,3,2,3,2) 15 - fantastic riding, beaten only 3 times by Adams, 6. Adrian Miedzinski (0,0,0,-,1)1 - terrible! Those, who remember his last year's performance in U21 World Championships Final in Wroclaw, couldn't belive their eyes, 7. Karol Zabik (2,t,2',0,0) 4+1 - riding better than points, "t" means touching the tape, riders are being excluded for it in Poland. UNIA Leszno 9. Leigh Adams (3,3,2,3,3) 14 - fantastic performance! 10. Adam Skornicki (1,1,1',2,2') 7 +2 - on of the biggest surprises of this match, efficient and showy! 11. Jacek Rempala (3,2,1,0,0) 6 - average, nothing more... 12. Lukasz Jankowski (2',0,EF,2) 4+1 - poor, very poor - we're going to miss Dobrucki... 13. Damian Balinski (1',2',1,1',-) 5+3 - slower than should be, but had a great battle against Crump, 14. Robert Kasprzak (1,-,-3,-) 4 - HUGE surprise! Never expected to bead World Champion! 15. Krzysztof Kasprzak (3,2,3,0,3) 11 - effective, but not brilliant. Scored all he got at the start... and nothing more... 1. (61,0) K.Kasprzak, Zabik, R.Kasprzak, Miedzinski 4:2 Great start by Kasprzak brothers, but Krzysztof didn't wait for his younger brother and Zabik passed Robert on the outside easily. 2. (60,2) Adams, Crump, Skornicki, Smith 4:2 (8:4) Adams starting from the inside got on lead at the first corner and despite Crump's permanent chasing reached the finish on 1st place. 3. (62,1) Rempala, Jankowski, M.Jagus, Puszakowski EF 5:1 (13:5) 4. (61,0) W.Jagus, K.Kasprzak, Balinski, Miedziński 3:3 (16:8) Jagus best from the gates and didn't let Kasprzak take 3 points. 5. (61,5) Crump, Rempala, Smith, Jankowski 2:4 (18:12) Poor Jankowski's performance allowed Smith to pass him on the outside. 6. (62,3) K.Kasprzak, Balinski, Puszakowski, Zabik T 5:1 (23:13) Zabik touches the tape, Leszno wins the repeated heat easily - crucial moment for this meeting. 7. (61,5) Adams, W.Jagus, Skornicki, Miedzinski 4:2 (27:15) Jagus wins the start, but Adams rides perfectly and remains unbeaten. 8. (61,9) R.Kasprzak, Crump, Balinski, Smith 4:2 (31:17) SENSATIONAL HEAT! Leszno riders took off like jets and due to very good team-riding defended successfully for over 3 laps. Finally Crumps managed to pass Balinski, but young Kasprzak still had a few meters of advantage and reach the end as leader. World Champion beaten! 9. (61,1) Crump, Adams, Skornicki, Puszakowski 3:3 (34:20) That time Crump rode very well and it was the end of Adams' dreams of a "full". 10. (61,8) W.Jagus, Zabik, Rempala, Jankowski EF 1:5 (35:25) Rempala won the start, but couldn't stop Torun riders from passing him. 11. (61,1) Adams, W.Jagus, Puszakowski, K.Kasprzak 3:3 (38:28) Kasprzak poor from the gates and couldn't even pass weak Puszakowski. 12. (62,2) Crump, Jankowski, Miedzinski, Rempala 2:4 (40:32) Jankowski won the start, but Crump passed him easily. Fortunately Miedzinski was to slow to do it. 13. (62,2) W.Jagus, Skornicki, Balinski, Zabik 3:3 (43:35) Torun best from the gates, but Skornicki hard try at the inside allowed him and Balinski to pass young Zabik. 14. (61,8) K.Kasprzak, Skornicki, Puszakowski, Zabik 5:1 (48:36) Leszno got the points they needed - home team wins the match! 15. (62,0) Adams, W.Jagus, Crump, Rempala 3:3 (51:39) Adams loses the start, but after first lap is already on lead. That's all for now. Best greetings from Leszno! SpeedieGonzalez
Thanks for that. I am a big Leigh fan, so I am interested in what he does in Poland & Sweden. I look on the Lezsno site, but can't read Polish very well! Your extra comments about the racing were good.
