Leszno 61 - 29 Zielona Gora

Decided to make the trip to Leszno after the GP... it was quite an experience! Is it normal to have so much trouble with the away fans, or was this just because it was a local derby? I had never expected to see riot police at a speedway meet!

Think they might have been there to sort out young Pedersen.

Nicki was perfectly well behaved yesterday, as pointed out by Tommy.

As for the Zielona Gora hooligans :o

I was glad to hear you are safe and well Tommy ! Shame we couldn't meet up. Am glad I opted not to accept your invitation to the cage

Rico

I got home safe and sound. :)

When the riots started I was ready to leave the cage but security wouldn't let us out. This was the craziest sh*t I ever experienced, riot Police were pointing their rifles at us (with rubber bullets)! Normal fans were forced to bounce back between the right and left side of the cage to avoid getting hit by a flying 2x4,bottle or a cops knight stick. The whole mess escolated around heat 10 when hooligans from Leszno and ZG tried to clash at the barier dividing the visitors sector and the rest of the stadium, one of the riot cops fired a few warning shots in the air which had an short lasting effect as hooligans went back to throwing whatever objects they could get their hands on.

To be honest Rico I didn't expect this kind of chaos that is why I invited you to the visitiors cage, if I knew this would happed I would opt out myslef and sit with the regular folks, last year was a picnic at leszno comparing to what we saw on Sunday.A big mistake by the organizers was not enough cops to secure the visitors sector and no "buffer zone" on the right side of the cage. Next time I'm in Leszno I'll defenitely sit in a neutral sector, i've had enough of this bullrubbish.

I just hope that people who read this don't get an idea that Poland and/or Zielona Gora is some kind of a bastion for hooligans. This happens to be an isolated incident and happens very rarely.

That takes me back to halcyon days in the "Corner" of St James' Park.

Okay, this afternoon's Polish results:

Zielona Gora 37 : 53 Wroclaw

Leszno 49 : 41 Bydgoszcz

Gdansk 42 : 48 Tarnow

Tomasz Gollob outscoring Tony Rickardsson for Tarnow.

Andreas Jonsson riding for Bydgoszcz, but only scoring 10.

Zielona Gora still in crisis it seems.

Some big errors on the bonus points in the results between Torun and Czestochowa. On the top of my head; Rune lost to Crump in his first heat; so no bonus there, but he never lost to Jagus who also has too many bonuses.

A super maximum from Rune Holta as Czestochowa humble the champ's Torun.

The mighty aTomek Gollob unbeaten by an opponent as Tarnow annihilate Gdansk.

Jonsson's Bydgoszcz heavily defeat Leszno.

Another heavy defeat for Zielona Gora, but it looks like a slight improvement for ZKZ Kitten's heroes.

Yes, it looks like they started to fight a bit. And hopefully Rafał Okoniewski will join us next meeting. What a shame we can't see Rafał Kurmański scoring his best... :(

Comments:

Jacek Gollob stars and Ryan Sullivan is injured as Tarnow crush Czestochowa.

Zielona Gora throw away a 10-2 advantage after 2 heats to lose to Jonsson-less Bydgoszcz.

Torun fend off the Wroclaw charge, but Hampel's still missing.
