REDLOH RACING RELEASE: By "The Team Head Spin Doctor Dude"

March 27th 05: (01)

REDLOH RACING's current Australian Under 21 500cc Solo Champion, New South Wales Shale Jockey Chris Holder will be making his way overseas in the not to distant future in the lead up to the World under 21 Championship Qualifying Round which is to be held at the Belle Vue Aces track on the 21st May 2005. There will be two nominated Australian riders this year with Chris and Rory being the chosen Australian representatives flying the Boxing Kangaroo flag at the famed British club.

Chris who alongside his brother James have both been in scintillating form this domestic season on the East coast culminating in Chris being crowned Australian u 21 Champion after a flawless performance at Tamworth. Chris riding a Mick Poole GM engine and Stuha frame took the star studded field apart in a dominant display from the Appin based "Smooth Kid Cruise" Flyer. The victory was a sweet one particularly for the Holder family and friends which had all the clan in raptures no more than his brother James who was one of the first out on the track to congratulate his younger brother showing the true level of mutual respect and admiration that bonds these two racing brothers of REDLOH RACING.

Chris also featured as a reserve in the Australian 500cc Solo Championship which included an impressive display at the Newcastle round which thrilled the crowds to what sort of potential the talented New South Welshman rider has. Though whilst a pleasant surprise for some to those whom have followed Chris and James's progress since their days of ringing the neck out of their 2 stroke chook chaser rocketships on dirt tracks around Northern NSW and the Sydney basin it has come as no surprise.

For those who have not seen Chris in action he possesses a very smooth style. He has pretty good reflexes when it comes to trapping out the gates and has a signature style hard charge going for that all important holeshot on the 1st turn. But his greatest asset is that he rides smart with an excellent racing mind he is a thinker when he is out on the track as opposed to just riding hard on the noise. Off track Chris and James also take things pretty much in their strides. They have a quite unassuming and easy going natures that makes them pretty popular with theirs peers and the fans on the hill at Gosford. So whilst they are professional and dedicated to their racing at the end day they just see themselves as just another pair of dudes riding their bikes and having fun at that same time. Which in this era of high pressure modern speedway filled with marketing and potential sponsors and coming under the microscope of media coverage particularly overseas this will prove to be a valuable asset from a marketing point of view but more importantly to the fans as well both domestically and ultimately overseas.

Whilst Chris and James have developed and honed their skills through hard work progressing through the ranks of the junior dirt track and junior speedway scene they have also had some good tutelage along way from not only his father Mick and uncle's Matt and Ben but also former Australian international speedway identity Mick Poole who now is the proprietor of the successful MICK POOLE SPEEDWAY SPARES venture based in NSW. Mick has been instrumental in his backing of the boys both commercially and parting of his vast speedway knowledge to the boys when needed as well. Mick who has been a driving force in New South Wales junior speedway development in recent years may be accompanying Chris over on his trip which will be an invaluable resource for Chris to tap into considering Poolie's world wide contacts throughout the speedway community. Chris's father REDLOH RACING's team principle, Mick Holder may also be making the trip over as well to further bolster Chris's quest in his world championship odyssey.

Also family friend the 1993 former world no.3, Craig "Face" Boyce has kept an eye out on the boys progression over the years with Boycey often giving some good advice when he was home during the Northern Hemisphere off season. It was Boycey who told me trackside some years ago that Chris and James had the goods back then to go onto bigger and better things then and what an astute judgment that turned out to be.

So there maybe the chance if it is arranged that Chris will be featuring in some 2nd halves prior to the world u 21 qualifier so UK speedway fans might be up to catching a glimpse of the Australian Champ in his first hit out overseas. More news on that front and the makeup of the Australian u 21 squad for the junior world championships that Chris will more than likely feature in will be forthcoming in future releases or on the upcoming REDLOH RACING website currently in the planning and design stage.

It is planned that the site will feature many of the usual sections pertaining to team sites such as rider profiles, photo galleries but also in a first for speedway websites in Australia we will be attempting to upload mpeg4 video footage captured from meetings featuring Chris and James onto the site.

Whilst we shall focus on Chris and James we shall also put the spot light on their younger brother up and coming racer Jack Holder who has just progressed from his pee wee 50cc to a XR 80. Jack is already sitting on Chris's junior speedway bike dreaming of emulating his hero Jason Crump some day. So look out another REDLOH RACING member in the works as young Jack already races with an Ipswich Witches bib on so maybe a sign of things to come.

So stay tuned for more news from REDLOH RACING.

REDLOH RACING RELEASE: By "The Team Head Spin Doctor Dude"

3rd April 05 (03)

REDLOH RACING'S Australian under 21 champion Chris Holder and top line NSW A-Grade rider James Holder strode into town and taught the locals a lesson REDLOH RACING style with Chris winning the Silver Sash solo meeting held at the Queensland speedway venue of Labrador on the Gold Coast on the 2nd April 05. Chris took out the meeting in fine style beating home former British Premier League rider Scott Smith with Sam Taylor in 3rd place with brother James just missing out on a podium finish with a fine 4th placing.

An analysis of the boys meeting as follows from Ross Garrigan:

1st heat:- Led throughout. Dennis Hall 2nd, Leigh Fernance 3rd, John Oliver fell.

3rd heat:- Led throughout beating Smith, Hall & Jon White.

4th heat:- Sam Taylor won the start and led throughout. Chris Holder 2nd, Fernance 3rd, Hugh Stephens 4th.

5th heat:- Won the start & led throughout. John Oliver 2nd from James Holder & Hugh Stephens.

Final:- From gate 1, he won the start narrowly from Sam Taylor. He took Taylor wide on turn 2. This allowed Smith to take second place.

Final placings - C. Holder, Smith, Taylor, J. Holder.

James Holder:-

1st heat:- Scott Smith won easily from James Holder & Jon White. Sam Taylor tapes exclusion.

2nd heat:- 4th behind brother Chris Holder, Fernance and Smith.

3rd heat:- An impressive ride from James. Sam Taylor won from James Holder and John Oliver. Fernance fell.

4th heat:- Placings - Smith, James Holder, Hall. Oliver ef on start line.

5th heat:- Chris Holder won the start with James Holder settling into 2nd place. Oliver passed him. C. Holder won from Oliver, J. Holder & Hugh Stephens.

Final:- CHRIS Holder, Smith, Taylor, JAMES Holder.

So another successful meeting for the team at REDLOH RACING with Chris stamping his authority on domestic racing on the East Coast and proving that his win at the recent Australian u 21 titles was no fluke and James also showing the way with yet another consistent performance. So all bodes well for the dudes at REDLOH RACING. Thankyou to noted Queensland speedway identity Ross Garrigan for his meeting analysis.
