My Uncle, Alan Armstrong, rode at reserve for Middlesbrough in the early 80's. I think he rode for a few other clubs too. I do know he was in the Workington side that was thrased by Crayford, but he doesn't remember much about that meeting (I wonder why...maybe cos he failed to score but then again he wasn't alone).

 

Anyhow I was just wondering did anyone have any funny stories about his speedway days or has anyone got any footage of him riding. If anyone has got footage i'd be more than happy to pay for a copy of it.

Sorry can't help you with any footage but I recall him along with Bernie Collier having loads of fun at the old Monday night training sessions at the old B.V. Spotted him at B.V last week in the bar after the meeting with his good lady, was good to see him back amongst us all again.

That's a shocker seeing him at BV as he's a UTG (Used To Go).
