The new speedway track at Wanneroo will be opening this Sunday.

Johno will be doing a few laps from 2.00pm onwards.

A plethora of past champions have been invited including Chum Taylor, Mick 'The Master' McKeon and Glen Doyle to name a few.

Rob Woffinden, Davey Cheshire and Greg Bartlett will definatley be there.

However the big news is that a former world champ will also be there. Any guesses?

The track is next to the junior motocross track on Pederick St.

see you there Timbo & Speedwaychick.

Is this the junior track?, or is there more than one track.Talking to Johnno in mildura he said the track looked good.

Well done to see a new track opening up, seems to be more closing shop for bikes than opening at the moment.Back in my racing days in adelaide(late 80s) we had North arm fri night, murray bridge, whyalla , or renmark, sat nights and if you were still keen Mildura sun night.

Ozyace --if you see Trev and Danny Harding ask if they got my txt the other day to remember to bring back some material on the Series 500 for a book my brother is writing. I'll try riging them but if you can pass on the message it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Laurence

Main Man,

If you don't have any luck there maybe I can help in some way.

I've got all of the series 500 brochures, many tracks just inserted a race sheet into the brochure which was for the whole series but there were a few exceptions.

I've probably got quite a few programmes from other meetings Wiggy did in OZ too.

PLus loads of videos of the various rounds as well as earlier Aussie visits.

Superb. You can e-mail me at laurencerogers@ic24.net and we can take it from there.

Bruv is round for dinner tonight so I can update him then.

Thanks BrizHeathen.

Hi Ozyace.  I couldn't make it to the track this time  How did it all go?

I was also wondering what is the length of the new track.

Also any hints of future dates for forthcoming events would be appreciated  B)

G,day Timbo - sorry about the delay in posting back.

It was a brilliant day and all credit must go to Wuffy, Dave Cheshire, Bruce Russell and Johno.

The track looks to of held up fantastic for it's first real hit out, there was no races as such (apart from some big kids on there fast 50's) :D

Apart from the 500cc solo's there was junior solo's, junior sidecars, Fast 50's and pee wee's. Glen Doyle and Malcolm Carter came out and even done a few laps.

Amongst the crowd was ex World Champ Peter Collins, Chris Collins and Carl Belfield who have been here on 5 weeks holidays, also Chum Taylor, Mick McKeon and Lee Redmond.

Johno looked fast as always as did Trev and Dan Harding and for the first time not being on a bike in ten years Doylie looked to have lost nothing.

The track is 150 metres from the inside kerb and 12 to 14 metres wide, perfect for any young fella wanting to ply their trade.

The next meeting is undecided at the moment but i will let you know when Wuffy is taking his son Tai up for a practice.

When i hear of anything i'll keep you in the loop.
