I remember that meeting when Rick`s engine fell to bits, if it was me i`d have been really mad but peter york came up to you didn`t he rick and although u looked quite shocked you were really calm about it considering. I just been flicking through some old bits i have and found Rick`s testimonial on the bees video (remember your presenting work you did on those end of season video`s !!)

hope you don`t mind all these questions rick ?

got a few more for you anyway ...lol

*where in the states are you living these days?

*what made you retire when you did?

*not sure if you know but JJ did a few meeting for the bees last season, how crazy is it that 12 years after you left he`d still be going.

*were you ever tempted to leave coventry or did you have any offers to go else where?

* what stunts did you do in Starsky and Hutch ?

i`m sure i`ll think of some more as the day goes on!!

Thanks so much again Rick for comming on here and being good enough to spend time replying to all these questions. I really hope somebody on here does have links to other ex bees riders or any ex riders in general as be great to catch up.

and i`m sure we would all love to see Rick come over in the next couple of seasons to say hello. Cheers again Rick and hope to catch you soon

Hey Ross,

I live in southern California, Los Angles area.

What made me retire, lots of reasons, too hard to briefly explain. As far as JJ still racing, I think it is great, if I had remained living in Europe or England I probably would have had a hard time staying away as I feel I am still in good enough shape to race. The part that would be tough at my age, probably would be if things didn't go right, the grind of too many races in a month or riding injured. But I love to watch a few of the riders I used to race with still going. I was always very happy riding at Coventry, there was no reason to ride anywhere else. Everything was right about it from a to z as far as I was concerned. Stunts in Starski and Hutch, not too much but near the beginning of the movie I am driving the car with Owen Wilson as passenger, I have a ballaclava over my head and face down and ally, we are about to do a heist. Also did a lot of work on a quad with camera to get shots on the golf course. I also have a camera bike that I built to get some of the chase scene of the Torino. The bike can carry a camera on the front or rear and be operated remotely with panning or tilting while the director talks to me through an intercom to give me direction. Rick

How did you become a stunt man Rick?

I have always wanted to work in the film business. I did do some work in the business when I was a kid. When I quit racing I was looking for anyway to get back in, so I did some Motorcycle commercials and lots of auditions. It was a slow process at first, but after about two years of effort I finally quit all my odd jobs in the film business as crew to only take stunt work and commercial stunt work, ie driving cars or motorcycles on camera. So basically, I became a stuntman by telling every coordinator I met that I could do it, until they hire me. Trust me, you have to tell them a lot. The saying is the hardest part of stunt work is getting the job.

i have a signed american bodycolour of Ricks that i won in a raffle!! It seems to have a tyre mark on the back, Rick do you remember what happened to it?

I dont remember, but that is rare as I kept almost all my bodycolors. Did you win it at my testimonial.

I can not quite remember, it was at one your functions so it may have been in your testimonial year, i shall try and get a photo of it up here for you it wmay jog your memory.
