Al Stewart
Football has far too many celebrity fans, many just jumping on the bandwagon. Don't think speedway has many but last night I was listening to BBC7 when Barry Cryer (you know, scripwriter & comedian) was telling his life story. It included some affectionate memories of watching Bradford at Odsal in the post-war years. He said he used to cut himself a mask made of cardboard so he wouldn't have to duck the flying shale. Because of this he was one of the few actually watching when Joe Abbott was killed in a crash on the bend in front of him.
stansolo
Billy Connolly used to follow Glasgow late 60's - I'm sure?
