Is it REALLY true that Johnno is amongst 8 riders spending next week at the Institute of Sport or whatever it's called in Canberra? Has it got a bar???? Guest Pin$tripe
Wato should win that meeting with his eyes closed, apart from Batchelor who is no where near as good as Watson yet, who can beat him? Would be surprised to see Wato get beat all day.

SCB
Pinny, I think you're under estimating some of them Aussies. They're pretty good at there long track over there. Wato shoudl be favourite but there are a couple of rider who can beat him, Lee Herne for one.

SCB
Seems the meeting was something of a joke with no start marshall, then start marshalls who didn't know what they were doing and causing Wato to think the final was about to start, so started to rev the bike only for the race not to start and Wato's bike to stop. Whacko
sounds like Watto is preparing to ride for the Diamonds, he has already learned from the great words of george english. ...if only middlo was newcastle's team manager
Pinstripe
Middlo made the journey from Scott Smiths flat in Brisbane to watch Wato ride, and shed some tears when Wato blew his engine. Thank god it wasnt a good engine he is using for Newcastle this year!
Ozyace
Hey Bryn was this the meeting Legend flattracker Jay Springsteen was at, if so how did he go? Also i can confirm that indeed Johno is in Canberra spending some time at the Institute of Sport. I don't know who else was invited though apart from Jase Lyons. A lot of Australia's success in sport has been contributed to the AIS, although i very much doubt it if you will see up in lights "Johno wins British Open at St. Andrews by 4 shots" Four shots of Tequilla maybe See ya soon mate Edited November 29, 2004 by Ozyace
Malcolm
Hey Bryn was this the meeting Legend flattracker Jay Sprinsteen was at, if so how did he go? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And what the times of the 750 Harleys compared to the 500s ? Bryn
Times? Er poor old Peter Baker the announcer had enough problems trying to "call" the finishing order in races from his position some 100 yards in front of the start / finish lines before riders were out for the next race let alone anthing else. Sprinsteen was in a class of his own really given his competitors big starts before setting off in pursuit to catch and pass them all! Incidentally, Newcastle fans will be interested to note that Jack stevens took part in a couple of classes during the meeting.

Apparently there were something like 18 riders invited in total and am certainly looking forward to asking Johnno how he coped with the tough regime they (apparently) have whilst there INCLUDING no bar! :-)
