Thanks for doing that, f-t.

Looking at it laid out like that it does seem a fair representation of the current position in speedway.

I'd say Crump and Rickardsson are a cut above the rest; then there's a group of Hancock, Adams, Pedersen (Nicki) and Gollob. Jonsson is a bit behind them but in front of the rest and then another bigger group of Hampel, Andersen, Pedersen (Bjarne), Richardson, Sullivan, Nicholls and Holta.

Sullivan has had a bad year for him and should really be in the second group; Loram and Max should be in the Hampel group but have also not had very good years.

What do you think?

Thats a pretty good way of 'grading' it.

Interesting to see how various wildcards performed in comparison to eachother as well. eg Forland performing better than Lindback on what is a similar track (temporary) of course you cant read to much into it, but still is intriguing.

Yeah thanks for doing that Ft. Looking at those stats the only one to make the semi's in all rounds was Leigh, however he only made the final or A main as he likes to call it :rolleyes: in 3 of the rounds.

What is interesting to see is over the series Jason made the semi in all but 1 round, Tony on the other hand twice failed to make it through to the semi final stages. Like wise Greg also had the same statistic but only 1 GP win from only 5 finals made the difference. Unfortunately for Leigh too many non appearances in the final race cost him a rostrum place this year.

I tend to agree with norbold on his comments regarding the 'top 4' and the others. I would rate Nicki and Tomasz G as the next best closely followed by Andreas, Hans, Lee, Scott, Jarek, Rune H, Bjarne and Ryan. Although this years results shows a large points difference between Andreas and Rune, in my opinion there is not too much that seperates this group.

Thank you for taking your time to write down all the results full throttle but i noticed a small error (i hate to be picky or petty). Scott Nicholls had an overall combined score of 66pts as he got 5,-,4,11,11,13,5,11,6. I thought i'd just mention it as it premotes him from joint 13th to 12th 1pt in front of sulli? Im always making mistakes with my adding up and once i left Hans Andersen out of my results (not on purpose i think). Nice job you did though!!!!

kazx :rolleyes::lol:

Interesting to note that, in relation to Nicki Pedersen and Tomasz Gollob who tied on 113 points, next year's race jacket number was determined by last year's final position. Thus, Nicki Pedersen will wear race jacket "5" next year and Tomasz Gollob "6". Surely it would have made more sense to have based the decision on the basis of events this season. For example, Tomasz Gollob won a Grand Prix this season while Nicki Pedersen did not, or, to appease Pedersen supports, Nicki Pedersen reached more semi-finals than Tomasz Gollob.

Looking at the scores of the legendary Mr Gollob, it is interesting to note that his Grand Prix failures mostly occurred on permanent tracks and, indeed, tracks where Gollob tends to do very well - Wroclaw, Prague and Krsko. On the other hand, a slight improvement from Gollob on temporary tracks, such as Cardiff and Hamar, where usually he struggles. It seemed to me, and I believe Gollob confirmed as much after his win in Bydgoszcz, that Gollob was down on power for much of the season, especially at Krsko.

So, what am I trying to say? I suppose that, assuming Gollob has good engines next season, expect to see him challenging for the title - my 2005 money is on the Pole.

Regards
