Silver Bee
Don;t see why they would like to have a czech and a norwegian though, surely that's what the wild card is for
tomhaines
How about... The obvious 4: Bjarne Hans Lee Scott + Robert Miskowiak (World Under 21 Champion) Yes it would give Poland 4 riders, but only because three have qualified by right. And in my view the U21 Champ should be given a go, like Hampel was this year (prehaps a future way of qualification could be to give the top two from that a place in the SGP?) Rigsby
This rubbish about giving a rider a place because of there being a GP in his country is b**cks quite frankly, thats what wild cards are for! Lets face it the Drymls are perhaps the most boring riders in the world, no personality and finished 21st and 22nd in the series this year! The series is already downgraded with crap like Chrzonawski, we dont need the dreary Drymls clogging up the series aswell! Why Zagar? He wasn't spetacular in his round where as the two danes actually reached a semi final knocking World Number 2 Rickardsson out in the process! In my opinion it has to go to the best possible candidates and they must be: Hans N. Andersen - Won a grand prix after the stress of being branded a cheat in the world cup, supporters love to hate him, a great personality for the series. Lee Richardson - Looked the most dangerous British rider in this years series. Ryan Sullivan - Was crap this year but before this season he still looked like a world beater and possible world champion candidate! Bjarne Pedersen - Won a grand prix, despite rarely being controversial he is actually a promising talent! Scott Nicholls - An terrible start to the season with injury meant he was always up against it to make the top 8, was World number 7 going in to this season! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just about sums up the situation and what should be the outcome However, I suppose BSI could go all political like WSBK, Moto GP and Formula 1 and, after all, if the BSPA can successfully mess up the EL each year then I'm sure that BSI will have a good go at breaking something that isn't particularly broken

I remember the controversy when David Kujawa pulled out of the GP Challenge 'injured' allowing I think it was Lukas Dryml a spot in the meeting. The current under-21 crop do look an exciting bunch though it has to be said, but then when you look at the list of champions from the past (with one or two exceptions) it's an impressive list (cue Henry W re 1996 ) Rico Edited October 4, 2004 by Rico

Answer, just one, Mr Crump Strictly speaking, yes. However, exactly the same competition was held from 1977-87 but was called the European Junior Championship. A rather odd title as it was open to U-21 riders from all nations not just European ones. Both Per Jonsson and Gary Havelock won that title. Of course, Jason won that title in 1995, so the 1996 winner must have a great shot at next years full World Title.
GM
Mine would be not sure if its five or six picks 1 Ryan Sullivan 2 Lee Richardson 3 Scott Nicholls 4 Hans Andersen 5 Rune Holta 6 Kenneth Bjerre if its six Sure I read that this years top eight with the two qualifiers plus one wildcard per round These were with the exception of Bjarne Pedersen the next riders from 8th down so it might explain JPs comment that the wild cards pick themselfs really.
