tape2tapevideo
Does any one out there have any old cine film, we would buy or borrow? Any Rider, Track or Year. To use of our Days Gone By collection. So far we have footage from Romford, Rayleigh, Wetsham, Hackney, Eastbourne, Ipswich, Kings Lynn, Boston, Plymouth, Wembley, West Ham, Iwade, Canterbury, Rye House and Portsmouth, plus many more. But we don't want those memories to be lost. All will be returned safe and Sound. If you can help, we would love to hear from you. fireblade
With the return of Scunthorpe next season, I thought that a tape covering speedway in Lincolnshire might go down well with the fans over here. Maybe former riders and promoters would co-operate regarding interviews etc. Is your Scunny action from Quibell or Ashbyville?
Guest Jim Blanchard
I think the Eastbourne 8mm reel I am sending you Ken is a match against Boston in 1972. The Wimbledon one is maybe the internationale or a league match. Interesting to find out. Have not seen it for over 30 years. EDIT:Also have one of Ole Olsen winning the Olympic at Wolverhampton somewhere here and also in road racing Britain V. USA Transatlantic races at Brands Hatch for the same period about 1972 with Cal Rayborn unbeatable on his Harley. Its a clear out job under the stairs now today methinks....... Every lap the Harley blasted past, i kept thinking next lap will be a different story, but Cal flat out smoked the best that day. thanx for the memory... Guest Jim Blanchard
Thanks Ken, I am glad you managed to get something off it OK - and I am looking forward to seeing it again, after all these years. Let me know when the actual video is out and I will purchase a copy. Edited October 6, 2004 by Jim Blanchard
Guest Jim Blanchard
Thanks Ken enjoyed seeing it again. Though it looks I have spliced some races of Ole Olsen winning the Olympic at Wolverhampton in the Wimbledon races. It actually ends with Ole parading on the tractor with Trevor Edge and Terry Betts - I think. No Hackney though. Sorry about that
Mylor
Sorry Ken, I've got nothing for you but I do have some 30 year old cine I need to convert to digital. I have a projector and a digicam. Is there a knack to getting decent quality copies?

Sorry about that <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah ha, so it's wolves with the old grandstand, must admit that bit threw me, Reconised Olsen, Betts and Hedge, and of course Plough Lane. As for putting it on to film, it's a long process, use white card and not the old screens, best on the back of a door (the white card that is, screen it on not too big, maybe about half the size of the A 4 paper. Use a tripod for the camera, set on manuel focas so it will not hunt. Copy it off, wind back yer cine film and yer tape, transfer the tape on the PC, best use Dobi Premier +, then edit away. and bingo!
