Welcome back GR, I missed you :approve: Must have missed that bit when i nipped upstairs. Unfortunately Mark doesn't seem suited to GPs. Although I like him I don't really like the attitude to blame anything for losing sometimes. Come on Mark, get it together :)

Mark has always stated that he would put his racing in Britain above the GP's, he has been World Champion and no matter what Trick might say, you can never gain that same feeling again of seeing your childhood dream come true and lifting the World Championship for the first time.

I would be rather surprised is Mark is given a permenant wild card again for next season but then again it saves me a lot of money as I will only go to the British GP in 2005 and not bother with others that I have attended in the past few years just to watch Mark race.

To those of you that comment on how he always finds something to blame, no doubt you would still slate him if he said that he rode like a complete pratt! Remember it was Steve Brandon that brought up the neck problem first, prior to that Mark said that he just didn't cut it!

On the fact of despairing with the GP's - I am hoping that with next seasons change in number of riders etc that they will finally stop this stupid thing of 2 Wildcards just for that meeting! When the actual GP riders are trying to score as many points as they can to either win the Grand Prix Series or just qualify for next year it really bugs the hell out of me that some "fly be night" can come along and throw a spanner in the works! I know they are only trying to show they are good enough to beat some of these guys and I congratulate them for that - but it still really rattles me!

Loram and Sulllivan proved yet again that they are past it on the grand prix stage, surely now they MUST win one of the next two GP's to stand any chance of a GP slot next season?!

I dont think you can say Sullivan is past it. Loram is older than him and has been there, done that etc and been the World Champion where as Ryan still has quite a few more years in him. It has been a disastrous year for him and he does seem to be struggling in the leagues a bit too so I just reckon his machinery is nowhere near to the standards it should be and he is low on confidence. This isnt the end of Ryan, he can bounce back next season - just hope he does have a GP place so he can prove it :)

I think BSI should cut the GP series down to about 4 or 6 meetings. The meetings would be a little special once again rather than becoming run of the mill like they are now. EL fans complain when they see the same teams visiting a few times a season, that's almost how the GP's seem now on every 2 weeks. If it wasn't for wanting to see how Crumpy does on his quest to become WC I probably wouldn't be bothered watching them all.

As for Mark, it's great that he enjoys league racing more than the GP's. He's been World Champion, has nothing to prove and will always be a great in the eyes of british fans and around the world no doubt. Not bad from a speedway career imo.
