After Belle Vue he went to Bradford and followed Neil Evitts. I remember the Speedway Mail doing an article about him. I think his real name was Tony. Apart from being very vocal - he was a nice guy.

 

I have got a video of the 1986 Pride of the East and the TV cameras even closed in on him.

Thought he went to support Poole, can remember Sky showing him at Wimbourne Road a few seasons ago

Definitely a case of once heard never forgotten :)

 

I remember one time we had Belle Vue the day after PC had won the British Final and he went up the steps that overlooked the pits and yelled "'Has the British Champion arrived yet then?". I guess it was one of those things where you had to be there, but it made us laugh anyway.

 

 

Shoddy as Soldier Boy - that conjures up an interesting mental image :lol:

I certainly remember him at Kings Lynn several times following Ray Wilson and then Peter Collins, he certainly knew how to work the crowd. I remember Martin Rogers interviewing him several times. I guess what we all want to know is where is he now, when was he last seen, he would make a great character now.
