spin king
Can anybody remember a Belle Vue fan called Old Soldier Boy, he used to follow Peter Collins all over and kind of hero worshipped him. Does anybody know hat happened to him.
fireblade
After Belle Vue he went to Bradford and followed Neil Evitts. I remember the Speedway Mail doing an article about him. I think his real name was Tony. Apart from being very vocal - he was a nice guy. I have got a video of the 1986 Pride of the East and the TV cameras even closed in on him. Guest Jim Blanchard
I have some photos of him trying to stir up the fans at Kings Lynn in the late 70's early 80's. Well I think its him anyway.

Phil
he went to Bradford and followed Neil Evitts. Are we sure this is not Shoddy on the forum, he always goes on about Neil Evitts!
Tigerblade
Definitely a case of once heard never forgotten I remember one time we had Belle Vue the day after PC had won the British Final and he went up the steps that overlooked the pits and yelled "'Has the British Champion arrived yet then?". I guess it was one of those things where you had to be there, but it made us laugh anyway. Shoddy as Soldier Boy - that conjures up an interesting mental image

Vincent Vega
Soldier Boy was last seen at Poole around about 1997/98 he was on the Crashes and Cock ups video being interviewed and geeing the crowd up at the KO Cup Final v Eastbourne that year. I am surprised Mr Shovlar doesnt remember him at Poole or has he only just started supporting them.
spin king
Where was the old boy from it sounds as though he got about a bit, has anybody seen him recently.
fireblade
He got stroppy at the Pride of the east meeting as he got mud on his nice new Neil Evitts British Champion jacket. Other riders he followed included Ray Wilson.
Canadian Star
I certainly remember him at Kings Lynn several times following Ray Wilson and then Peter Collins, he certainly knew how to work the crowd. I remember Martin Rogers interviewing him several times. I guess what we all want to know is where is he now, when was he last seen, he would make a great character now.
