garf
very interesting from a riders perspective. albeit from a rider of four or five decades ago. Well done to Hans Andersen, top man. Everone can do that writing and claim it is some former top-rider. Where is the proof ?

Undercover Elephant
After what most of us think Andersen did to this country, he doesn't deserve our congratulations IMO. I was very sorry to see him win. Well Said Totally Agree With You "Oh how quickly the so called Team GB fans forget! Shelby,it's not the team GB fans that are forgetting.I for one will never forget or forgive, thats my perogative. It's just the Ipswich fans and Andersen sucker uppers coming out of the woodwork now it's quietening down and he's won something. They couldn't be seen anywhere after the world cup final.Disappointed in one or two others on this forum who like to call a spade a spade, where are they now ? all the bigshots, maybe's busy looking at other stuff to stir up as per usual. As said before to someone else who seems to excel at holding grudges, its called moving on in life, i'm not sure how old you are but I have been to, and seen enough sporting disasters / disappointments to make me all rather immune to it. No doubt you will claim that as defeatist but I am a successful in business and also have enjoyed a successful sporting career of my own, therefore watching other sports i do for enjoyment and don't take it SO to heart if my team / my country don't win. besides when there are wars in the world and problems galore in the rest of the country i tend NOT to get all pig headed and out of my pram over sport! Thats my perogative! Far TOO many other things in life to concentrate on, as i said at the time a few pints on a sunny day the day after the world cup i'd got over it, and after seeing a lot of the complete drivel written on here i had a good old laugh. Blunt enough for you? Thats the trouble, people are entitled to come on hear and moan about Hans but all you do-gooders are short in the brain when it came to the WC. It will take some people longer than others to forgive Hans. If I want to have a pop at him I will. Storming Norman
When people commit an offence they are punished for a period of time. IMO Andersen's time is nowhere near up and wont be until GB get a chance to put things right at the next World Cup. Personally I don't want him to earn pay cheques from British Speedway until the next World Cup. For my part, I wont pay to see him race here until then and I sincerely hope no EL club signs him next year. However, I accept some will have different views as they should accept I do. It will take some people longer than others to forgive Hans. If I want to have a pop at him I will. Why, because I can. yeah right whatever! Unlike you I move on, don't like to have my life ruined by continually dragging up the past. No doubt in four years time you still be dragging this up. As for short in the brain, nope just not petty and small minded like so many others, its not forgiving, its not forgetting its just moving on. Yes you can take a pop at him cos you can, well done lucky you, but don't be surprised to find people in life who surprisingly DON'T share your opinions, and like me will argue just as forcibly against it. Afterall to quote someone else, what exactly did he do against this country?.... sell our nuclear secrets to the Russian's, murder a national treasure, increase income tax, poison the water system of a small Lincolnshire Village?? no i forgot he allegedly took money from the Swedes to deny us our rightful place as World Cup winners 2004 in a minority sport which hardly ever makes the headlines, and 95% of the country couldn't give a sweet Fanny Adams over! Now do realise just how ridiculous some of you lot appear, Agatha Christie couldn't come up with that plot, nevermind keep booing him this year and next and within a year or so people will come up and ask you "what on earth are you booing him for?" I've sat in crowds of 40,000 at Hillsborough (Sheff Wed) and witnessed the banal behaviour towards Beckham after he of course (please observe sarcasm here!) "singlehandedly got us eliminated from France 98" what was your opinion on that Undercover Elephant eh? Should he have been the scapegoat for England's failure against Argentina? Most of the country did it seems and then completed an amazing 360 to change their mind when he scored against Greece in the World Cup qualifier. peoples opinions in sport change VERY quickly. Eastbourtne fans were very quick to defend their rider Nicki pedersen after his ahem incident with Hancock, yet one little twerp tells me on MSN 60,000 people hate Andersen and the whole of eastbourne is gunning for him, yeah right mate keep taking the tablets!! Most people i speak to on MSN have reason and logic and seemed totally indifferent to all this. I think your the one VERY short in the brain department but nevermind, keep that unforgiving streak going, plenty more years left to hate eh? bellevueace
Other countries state nobody celebrates failure like the brits if we get any sporting heroes the press etc are soon out knocking them, no wonder andersen is being forgiven by so many who seem to revel in being good losers, no shutting off in gothenberg then ??? crazysue
Good post General Melchitt, life is far too short to hold grudges for long and there are far more important things in life.

All riders risk life and limb everytime they race so if you can't appreciate that and you're going to have a pop at Hans for something so petty then stay at home. Storming Norman
Fair enough mate. Yes I should have spotted that. I'm also a fan of the good General. Shame he wasn't there to sort things out at the World Cup Final in his incisive way. Come to think of it, perhaps he was advising BSI, FIM and Olsen on how best to quieten the reaction! Storming Norman
Apologies for me also going off topic just this once: Or "Don't slouch, Darling" after the wonderful Lord Flashard had knocked him out over the desk. Guest Jim Blanchard
Everone can do that writing and claim it is some former top-rider. Where is the proof ? I am the webmaster for the official Ove Fundin web site and and if you check it out that is what he says that in his opinion and his alone that your 'story teller' Andersen is cheat. http://freespace.virgin.net/ove.fundin/news.htm There is your proof Garf, we in generally do not tell lies and 'cheat' in this country could be that you have so much of it in your home land you think that everyone is the same perhaps and you have a natural instinct to trust no ones word. Midnight_Lady
I wanted to trash my TV and living room up after that piece of crap won his first GP. I want to see his bike scrutineered because there is no way he has quicker machinery than the likes of TR and JC. He got lucky from gate one which was one of the preferred positions but come on, he's not even on the same level as the top three in the standings. Looks to me and many others that the pay off was a lucrative one! Just like the WC, he's a cheat! Oh dear Looks like you need a course in anger management. Midnight_Lady
When people commit an offence they are punished for a period of time. An offence? Who the heck do you think you are? The police? Get a grip on reality here. Nobody died. Time to move on or all that hatred you have inside is gonna eat you up
