Crumpy what a legend!

Recommended Posts

And One Kick doesn't make him a dirty rider!

True, but many other incidents he's been involved in do!

Kevin - I am no fan of Jason Crump but I have never viewed him as a dirty rider!

So now you just saw him kicking a fellow rider doing 60mph. What is your new view ??????

Theyre probably only doing 40 max at that point :D

My point was that you might as well accept it as it happens at that level - and I dont care who does it really, be it Danes, Swedes Poles. Of course the Brits would never do anything like that as they are all perfect and above suspicion :D

Still the same! What he did was wrong (as many have said) but still not dirty in my book!

note to self: Get round to writing that book!

So the argument is that one, "tiny, little, unnoticed, hidden, spetacular" kick dosn´t make Crump a dirty rider.

Excuse me, are we in the the same sport ?

Trying to be silent

Well there you go, its a pity Crump didnt kick Pedersen in the nuts and settle his hash once and for all like twas done in the old days.....

ok all sing along . . .

Hong Kong Crumpy, number one super guy.

Hong Kong Crumpy, quicker than the human eye.

He's got style, a groovy style,

and a bike that just won't stop.

When the going gets tough, he's really rough,

with a Hong Kong Crumpy kick (Hi-Ya!)

Hong Kong Crumpy, number one super guy.

Hong Kong Crumpy, quicker than the human eye.

Hong Kong Crumpy, he's fan-riffic (gong!)

Remember seeing Roman Matousek and Martin Dugard at Brandon in 1990 knocking 7 bells out of each other for 4 laps in one race. On one circuit both crossed the line side by side probably only 3 or 4 mtrs from the kerb, both with their legs on each others bikes ! get outta the way ! Roman got the race verdict but there was plenty of activity in the pits afterwards.

Elbows are an extension to the bars and we sent plenty of the sharpening going on nowadays, but feet in a deliberate attempt to shove an opponent aside is taking it a bit far, at least everyone walked away.

Anyone remember Gollob asking Henka Gustafsson to 'cough' mid race at the German (Abensberg) GP in 1995 - grabbed by the Pole literally !

It dosnt take much to get people upset does it? no wonder theres no characters in the sport now, and how we bemoan that fact, dont know what some of todays fans would have made of some of the characters of yesteryear.

doesnt these days.... i actually fine a bit of contreversy amusing ( as long as it aint dangerous ) like nicki on the phone to toney steele or a punch up... but when it come to riders trying to hurt other riders by dangerour riding thats another story. as what hans done to scott and what crumpy done to nicki niether of them caused the other one harm ( ok we lost the SWC but that was already lost IMO )... unless someone delibratly takes someone out through dangerous riding i dont care what they get up to.. at the end of the day its just a bit of added entertainment for the fans..

The riding was a lot harder years ago but fair in most cases, today by comparison they would be getting kicked out, difference being they could dish it out and take it like football which is now becoming a non contact sport, the tackles from games in the seventies from the harris,s, stiles, bremners, etc would get them banned today but there was a lot less injuries than today, hard riding from years ago albeit fair would today be condemed as dirty and the likes of pedersen etc wouldnt hold a candle to some of those guys.

No doubt about it - riders are whinging about unfair riding a whole bunch more than they did 30 years ago. They also seem to go down a lot easier nowadays, possibly in some cases to trick refs. Crump is a shining paragon of virtue compared to many riders!

Crump knew that the exclusion was on its way...otherwise we would have been witness to the usual dummy spitting, helmet throwing tantrums...

The only question i'd like to pose....How would Crump have reacted if it had been Pedersen kicking him??

Whats done is done!!

I thought Nicki/Hans etc and their controversial personalities were good for the sport!! Is it different when it Jason??

Fair enough it was a kick.........reason for kicking is currently unknown............Wont you all be gutted if theres a genuine un-Nicki related reason?

As for Jason being dirty.......................He doesnt hold a candle to ALOT of other riders! It was probably just a slip of the foot..........wrong but he got excluded and no one else was hurt!

Get over it guys!

Seen some hard riding over the years, but I thought Crump's actions last night were very foolish. He was riding well enough and surely there was no need for those sort of tactics. He was rightly excluded but how would he be be feeling today if he had gone out in his next heat with an e.f. or tapes exclusion, after that mindless kick. How nice it was last night to see riders still able to race hard but fair, Rickardsson v's Hancock and Hancock v's Jonsson. Good entertainment with a bit of respect for each other, and nobody hitting the deck.

The point which seems to have been missed is that a rider kicking another rider is NOT a racing incident! It was closer to an unprovoked assault, but whichever way, it has nothing to do with racing. I hope Nicki puts in a complaint about him.....hard riding is one thing, but behaviour of that type has no place in any sport.
