FlyinRyan
Apparently they have real big problems with the track in Ullevi again. Practice was cancelled as the track was not rideable, Peter Karlson crashed while trying to get a skid on and Linback couldn't turn his bike. They are scraping the top surface off tonight and relaying it. There has been no rain today but there was overnight. Practice is scheduled for 11:00am. There are lots of worried people in Gothenburg tonight.
SuzieQ
Well that is very interesting to read! especially after all the who-ha last year and how this year it would be different with Ole taking over the laying of the track etc! If things go wrong tomorrow I feel that heads will roll......!

Sulli
What happens if its called off? Does it get postponed to next week like last year? Taken from the GP website: '2003's Grand Prix at Ullevi ended in a big fiasco. The race was abandoned as the track was in a condition too bad for riding. This year it is going to be different. Last year, Dane Ole Olsen was brought in to fix the track for the weekend after. This year, BSI has had him lay the track from the beginning. It is now 15 meters longer than the one from last year and has better water resistance. - It is got a better surface with higher traction. It is a great track, says Olsen. BSI head chief of the speedway Grand Prix, John Postlethwaite, is also quite happy with this year’s preparations: - It is fantastic. We have invested a fortune in this track, he says.' It sounds promising but the rain spoils everything Edited August 20, 2004 by Sulli
Joanne
Although we weren't allowed it for the practise, I get the feeling the track is OK now.
