Joanne
I was just typing Warsaw and getting two trains during the day. I see where I have gone wrong now. Think I'll pick an easy one with 0 connections. Thanks Rico From a very stressed Joanne
Leliwa
Joanne, most trains from Warsaw origin from the Warszawa Wschodnia (East Warsaw) station. The next stop on the way is Central station and the next one is Warszawa Zachodnia (West Warsaw). time difference in between them is around 4-5 minuts. In the on-line trains schedule i do suggest you write full name of the station you want to depart from otherwise there might be glitches like the one you encountered. Actually I will be going to Bydgoszcz via Warsaw taking the 10:25 train but it will be on Saturday. best,

f-s-p
Now that I'm almost ready sorting out our travels, one last question remains. Do they have sell out meetings in Poland? Meaning is it 100% sure that we can get tickets for the Torun -Tarnow match on sunday..?

Papa Bazarou
Is the hotel Brda a private meet up or can we pop in <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Everyone is of course welcome - the more the merrier. Sounds like there should be a rather large gathering of Forumites and their entourages. Rico <{POST_SNAPBACK}> and I expect every forumite to sign Papa's Bydgoszcz 2004 flag. The kebab shop down from the Brda won't know what's hit them on the Friday !

Meaning is it 100% sure that we can get tickets for the Torun -Tarnow match on sunday..? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> f.s.p usually it is packed during extraliga matches but there should be no problem on Sunday in Torun considering that home team has nothing really to fight for, they are in the 4th place and not going anywhere plus there was a little less than perfect atmospere concernign the team and thier lack of expected effort therefore many fans were skipping matches recently. So no problem with tickets. This said it doesn't mean that the meeting is going to be a boring one, on contrare. Tarnow needs just one point to secure the championship and they should do everything to get it in Torun to have easy last game with strong Wroclaw. Torun is an ambitious team and they will not give in that easy, so I expect very tight match going to the clutch heats.
sjw ministerofport
Just wondered whether there are any speedway tracks in Warsaw as we are staying there on 20th&21st. As for the rest of the trip it seems like we have changed everything we had to. We are now traveling straight down to Bydgoszcz on friday rather than staying in Warsaw. Our flight is from heathrow around six am, maybe there will be other speedway fans on the plane, that would be good. We are staying at the Pod for the two nights. We were originally staying at the City just for the saturday night but could not get the two nights there because of changing our plans. Will be going to the Brda for the meet up. Thanks to you all for your help with my questions.
pugwash
There is a track in Warsaw but they went out of business last year. Although if you go into the "Sports Bar" under the Marriot Hotel on Monday night they will have the live televised Sky Sports Elite League match. I think that it's a play off match, so don't expect to see Arena or Swindon. If its B.V it will be rained off.

Guest krzyzaniak
Leliwa, you're right, I think the meeting in Torun, day after GP, will be pretty good Tony, Jason and Tomek - it will be our little GP and I'm sure - no problems with tickets best from Torun

Joanne
Rico, ref. what I was talking about last night. Taken from my Poland book: Steak tartare - raw minced beef with egg yolk, chopped onions, spices, olive oil, salt and lemon juice - a favourite with Poles. And you wonder why I want to find a McDonalds Looking forward to 'Rico's idiots guide to getting to Bydgoszcz' See you at the airport Joanne

Indeed there is something like tartare on the menu in restaurants sometimes, but favourite? At least I've never tried it I never put on my plate anything that could walk off it on its own
