Addy
Will be staying in Bydgoszsz itself on Friday and Saturday nights and looking for a decent bar to while away some time. Last year a few of us met up in the bar at the Hotel Brda - I was going to suggest something similar this year for starters on the Friday evening. I'm sure Papa B will confirm a fine evening was had by one and all Rico <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good god yes Rico, if my hangover was anything to go by, I'll be at the Brda again this year, and you are more than welcome to assist me in the quest of consuming copious amounts of alcohol.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do look out for Joanne. If you find her - you might find me

Leliwa
I will be in Bydgoszcz as well and it would be fun to meet and have a beer together, if not at the stadium than maybe afterwords, if any of you are staying till Sunday. I'm staying to support my team Unia on Sunday meeting in Torun. Should be great event, plus Per is suppose to visit. best,
f-s-p
f-s-p. See you for a beer. We're staying at City Hotel and going to sit on back straight. Hope you have got some accomodation, if not you can crash out on our floor. Sorry no three in a bed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's settled then!! My "man" came trough, and we are booked in the City as well. I thought the hotels would be full, so I gave the task to someone who has connections. Apparently they are not, but at least we have a place to stay (a bit more high profile than the Europejski in Wroclaw though ...) We are arriving friday evening, on sunday morning we'll leave for the Torun meeting, and stay there overnight. Compensation tickets are arriving late this or early next week, we'll know about seats better by then. Probably backstraight...

Rico
Is the hotel Brda a private meet up or can we pop in <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Everyone is of course welcome - the more the merrier. Sounds like there should be a rather large gathering of Forumites and their entourages. Rico
f-s-p
hotel brda on Friday nightclub under the city hotel on the saturday night? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The speedway party is on friday night, starting at 18pm, in somesort of indoor arena called "Luscnizja" or something. The brochure from Gothenburg says there will be disco with fireworks, famous dj's, rider parade, autographs... Dont mean to dampen the party at Brda, but what about your fireworks...? We'll see what the weekend has to offer for the occasional speedway traveller, probably loads of Zywieczs and Piast! I'm sure they were supposed to do something in the town centre last year the evening before the GP but it was cancelled. Hopefully this years event will go ahead as planned. Joanne
Trying to work out directions to Bydgoszcz 1. What's the best train station to use from Warsaw. The Central one doesn't seem to have many trains leaving from it and how do you get to them from the Central area. 2. What station do I get off at Bydgoszcz Rico, think you might be on my plane. Are you going at 9am from Stansted next Thursday?

We always just get of at Bydgoszcz Główna and get a taxi from outside to the station to the hotel (sometimes an experience in itself). We are flying Air Polonia next Thursday morning from Stansted so I guess it may well be the same flight. Staying in Warsaw Thursday night before heading off to Bydgoszcz on Friday morning. Joanne
Thanks Rico. But the first train that goes from Central Station is at 1320, changing at Kutno and getting to Bydgoszcz at 1737. Next one is three hours later.

Joanne
I'm talking about going to Byd. on Friday, staying in Warsaw Thursday night. Where did you get that? Rico
I put in the date of travel of 17.09.04, travel time 10:00 and the stations and got all the trains I mentioned above by clicking later and earlier connections buttons. The site you mentioned uses exactly the same engine as the Polrail site. Rico Edited September 9, 2004 by Rico

Rico
Is that when you type in Warszawa Centralna as the departing station ?? The times I've shown above are from Centralna, but some of the trains stop at other Warsaw stations, eg the 1025 from Centralna stops at Warszawa Zachodnia at 1030 and is appearing on your query. I guess it depends where you are staying in Warsaw as to which is closest to your hotel - we're normally based in the Holiday Inn, which is right beside Centralna.
