No.Not really. Poland is like Prague  Most of them don't speak an ounce of English. And we aren't going through that again Beercellar

Your kidding right?

Prague is a beautiful cosmopolitan city of culture, where there is so much to see and do.

Bydgoszsz is an industrial city, though it still has plenty to see whilst there for a weekend. Language problems? I have never had them at either place. A big mac is a big mac in any language! :D

Torun is the place to go after the GP. Only an hours drive away but watch out for the police. They are keen to hand out speeding fines on those dodgy roads.

No. I'm not kidding. In the stadium, they didn't speak English. We was trying to get ou the stadium and explain that we wanted to come back in but they didn't understand/didn't speak English.

Yes. I know. Prague is beautiful. We been their 2 years in a row now.

But i think Prague and Poland is a very - Beer(Ish)Country. At the Speedway meetings the Poles like to get drunk.(Look at the drama that we had when we went to Prague and were packed in with Poles)

WHAT!! - People from Prague in the Czech Republic not speaking English - that's outrageous.

No wonder you went back to your hotel without staying to watch the meeting. That's exactly what I would have done after spending several hundred pounds flying out there and paying for a hotel.

Sorry; one post too far from JY.

I've been to the Czech Republic and Poland, and absolutely love both places and the people. So there was some drunk Poles. I'm assuming you've been to Cardiff?

Anyone drunk and out of order? Mainly the Brits?

Don't tar them all with the same brush.

And you wonder why you get stick?

Prague was great and I only got 'beerish' because of the delay (like everyone else!) - The place was great to visit and the people friendly (in that eastern european way!)

Will be making the trip to Bydgoszsz with my bro and can't wait for our maiden voyage - looks like an awesome track on the TV and the pilgrimage had to be arranged!

Will be staying in Bydgoszsz itself on Friday and Saturday nights and looking for a decent bar to while away some time.

SW17 Racer - Yes. I went to Cardiff! I didn't see anyone drunk or out of order! But in Prague their was hundereds of drunk Poles! Got pushed over by some, they were urinating in bushes(Not in toilets)

Splatty - Prague is a great place to visit. But if people are drunk then the security guards shouldnt let them enter.

Last year a few of us met up in the bar at the Hotel Brda - I was going to suggest something similar this year for starters on the Friday evening.

I'm sure Papa B will confirm a fine evening was had by one and all :)

Right on cue Rico . .

Hotel Brda on Friday sounds like a fine starting place so that we can enjoy some Zywiec or Lech Premium Sport :P

As well as british fans, you can also find a few EL promoters, a handful of BSPA officianardos and even a few ex-riders if you are lucky in the bar as well (Jan O Pedersen in 2001).

There's a very handy kebab shop just 100mtrs down the road which must be tried as well.

Is Tomek Elwood attending this year Rico ?

For all you Bydgoszcz virgins, check out Papas webshots link below.

See you all at the Brda !

Sadly no Tomek in our party this year - saving Londoners lives is taking up too much of his spare time. He is managing to squeeze a weekend to Krakow in a couple of weeks time that I will be joining him on. Speedway is merely an excuse to go out to Poland and have a good time.

Who are you heading out with this year Papa B, same crew ?

Rico

Pretty much Rico - CMSTV on tour ! But probably no tour T-shirts this year though !

Might bring out a Bydgoszcz 2004 flag for forummers to sign - see if we can round a few up !

Are you with the same folk - Davi & co. ?

We're out and back via Airpolonia.com Stansted-Poznan, then a bit of PKP rickety-rail (its an adventure) Fri-Sun nights at the Brda this year, not sure what Sunday is going to bring, last year we did the upsticks and relocate to Gniezno - but I believe that it is Torun-tarnow Ekstraliga (Grump, Tomasz Gollob, Ricko, Pepe) which is only an hour away so more manageable, sounds a bit tasty that one !

When are you travelling out ?

I will be there along with Papa B and the rest of the CMSTV gang. We met last year, I was the really drunk girl who Mr Ellwood spent the night chatting up until he realised I was with my husband!! I will be drinking a little less Polish water this time around though. Only just made it to the GP the following day after a severe hangover!

Ever thought of learning Polish?? It really isn't that difficult, once you get started. The Poles are brilliant, just saying hello or thankyou gets you a long way.

When are you travelling out ?

This years itinerary is flying Stansted to Warsaw on the Thursday morning, an evening in Warsaw, then getting the train up to Bydgoszcz on the Friday morning.

An afternoon of sunbathing and a couple of beers at practice would appear to be the order of the day.

Sunday we are supposed to be getting a train to Berlin, but I do fancy seeing the Torun - Tarnow match and all the stars involved. We've already booked and paid for accomodation in Berlin for the Sunday night though. I think we are in Berlin until the Tuesday.

Julie and Jonny will be there, but there travel arrangements are a bit different. Not sure when they are likely to pitch up in Bydgoszcz, but it will be on the Friday. There are also a few other Edinburgh fans going over I believe.

btw I just experienced my first Air Polonia flights at the weekend - no major problems occurred.

Tomek will be devastated when I pass him this news, wilburforce ;) but at least you and your hubby know the coast is clear of the that particular menace.

You didn't seem THAT drunk :o and credit where it's due, you did outstay your other half.

Should be another cracking weekend anyway. Looking forward to it greatly.

Couldn't agree more wilburforce.

BBC have part of their site dedicated to providing the basics for all the European countries and it can be found here.

Not everyone in the world speaks English believe it or not
