Liontamer
Middlo, don't feel too bad mate. At least you got the chance to see at first hand that mole on Sophie Blake's right twit. See, every cloud has a silver lining.

Steve Shovlar
I can only repeat what has already been written already. I came away last night totally gutted, but also with a feeling of elation that I had witnessed a great week of speedway at the highest calibre, and that Team GB were the reason for it. The boys all done well and were led well by Middlo, who got the riders in the right frame of mind to outride themselves nearly all the way. Second may be the fiirst loser, but on this occassion the Team GB deserve all the praise that is being heaped upon them.
stevehone
Middlo, quick question for you.... do you think the race where Richardson was impeded should have been re-run and what would you have done if it had gone against you in a league match with your rider leading as there were no fallers and it's part of racing if someone in front of you has an EF other than that, was a decent effort considering the track, your track, not being set up how the Brits supposedly like it, with that very slick line appearing very early on. KevH
Neil, The fact that you were prepared to post here after what happened on Saturday speaks volumes for your character & you as a person. I take my hat off to you sir. You & your team deserved all the support you got & more. The name on the trophy may be Sweden, but no-one in the team GB set up could be faulted for their grit, determination, drive, ambition & desire. Many expected team GB to sink without trace in this competiton, but just a single point stopped you from becoming champions of the world. Silver was more than so many thought you & your team capable of & the whole team won a new army of fans last night. Your efforts deserved nothing less & when the boys were asked to stand up & be counted, yourself included, they did to a man. Take a bow, Neil Middleditch & the six riders who donned the team GB colours with such distinction this last week. You made me proud to say "I'm British." Winners all. An excellent post and one I'd like to echo. You and the lads did us proud Middlo - keep the guys together, maybe with a Test Match against Sweden in October and keep that team spirit going! I know it's a cliche, but there's always next year - and with the spirit and determination you've brought into the team there's no-one who's going to stop us lifting that trophy next year. Brightonbob
Well I'm a terrible loser, but I've gone through my 'I'm never buying bacon ever again phase' and fact is Team GB did themselves justice, even though people seemed to try to deprive them of it. One point in those circumstances is fate, not riding. Could have been either of us. Lets face it was GB versus Sweden all the way through and if anythign notched against GB it was that they had to do it on their own. Where were Gollob and Pedersson? Everyone from Screeny to the remarkable Havelock did great and are heroes in my eyes. You keep focussed. Next year we'll have it and I swear I'm booking a weeks holiday and buying a bloody great flag.

stressed
Middlo Hang in there, times will get better over the next few years, super commitment from all the GB boys & yourself, you all did us proud. Watching the Sky coverage my packed house really felt for you all, but we realised we had seen some excellent racing, real racing including the best heat ever at Wimborne Road with Rempala & Havvy, if only every heat was like that crowds would flock back. Doing your best is all that can be asked of any speedway rider, that's what the guy's gave, thanks to each & every one of them & to you Middlo for pushing them to the limit. Don't let anyone knock you down there isn't a better manager around who could do any better than you at International level. Keep it it's yours for as long as you want it as far as we are concerned. Lizzie C
Middlo, Scotty, Mark, Lee, Floppy, Havvy, Joe You gave it everything, and performed way above expectations. No one could ask for more. I'd like to thank YOU for giving us such a brilliant week of speedway, ending with one of the most exciting nights I can remember being a part of at Wimborne Road. Hold your heads high and be proud.

crazysue
Would just like to add to all the comments, Middlo. You and the boys made my family feel proud to be British, before the final there were some who thought we would be doing well to get on the podium but to be dominating the meeting all the way through exceeded a lot of expectations (not mine, I always knew you and the boys would do well), yes I am gutted that we missed out on the gold by 1 point but boy am I proud of you lot.....thanks for a great nights entertainment, and next year, with you in charge we will get the gold.. WELL DONE MIDDLO AND THE BOYS
fatface
What I will say is that Middlo got his selections absolutely spot on. Even going right back to last summer, his faith in David Norris has, I feel, played a huge role in helping give us the rider we see today. As for this year, bringing Screeny back into the WTC fold and having the guts to drop him for Havvy for the final have been managerial masterstrokes. Well done Neil. I also admire your attitude that losing is not good enough. It's not good enough for other countries and shouldn't be good enough for us either. IMO too many people are being all very British here - happy to be the plucky losers. Not good enough, we were at home, all fit and in form. WE SHOULD HAVE WON IT! 21st century heathen
Well done to all concerned. You all did us proud, and you should all hold your heads high. It would be easy to break it down and say that ??? should have beat ??? in heat ???, but that would be very unfair. Overall you did a fantastic job, and we couldn't have asked for more. We went sooooooooooooo close. Very disappointed, as is everyone else, but that's life. In the end I think the luck evened itself out. We were lucky to get a re-run when Lee was taken out, and when Scott should have been excluded. We were unlucky with re-runs for Nicki/Mikael crash, Scott pulling up. All-in-all the Swedes pulled it all together when it really matered in the last few heats, rather like Thurs. Whatever your view on Hans antics it wasn't the Swedes fault so well done to them too. Middlo
Steve, in answer to your question what would I have done re the Lee Richardson incident had it gone against me in a league match would have spoke to the ref asking very politely!! why he made the decision he did, knowing full well i was wasting my time, they should take the phone away and put a mirror in its place so I can talk to myself because all the years i have been managing think I have made a ref change his mind once. I must admit with video replays it does make life easier when you can see things from a differant angle people shutting off blocking riders etc that sort of thing.( bitter me?!!!!!!!! )Why he made the call i dont know but thanks Mick i owe you a beer.
