no i don't think he is... i think he should keep his job for another year at least

Oh and I suppose you think that was aimed at the TEAM GB manager  You couldn't be further away from it if you possibly tried, then again could be trying to start an argument which I really am not going to be dragged into!

I have my own opinions of the SWC and the alledged goings on, for once I am keeping these opinions to myself as I am not very tactful at the best of times.

All I will say is I thought better of Bacon Balls!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Done to Middlo and the Lads they done us proud at Eastbourne and Poole Silver not as good as Gold but a hell of a lot better than Bronze

The world is full of if onlys, if only the numpty with the camera hadn't done what he did at that moment.......... If only Vincent Vega hadn't started this thread if only................ etc etc

There is a big difference to winning the league and the World Cup. To win the World Cup you only need to win 3 meetings whereas the league is over 30 odd matches big difference. Middlo has done a good job no doubt about that I just feel having had 4 attempts at winning it and failed someone new should be given a chance.

Ahh, but to win the World cup you need to beat 7 other top draw, full of talent teams from other countries. Only need to win 3 meetings....... Only? Did you not see the quality in teams?

To win the league you've got to beat about 5 top class teams and then another 5 of the quality of Arena.

Middlo has done a good job as England TM but after another World Cup has proved elusive I think it is time for Neil to step aside now as England manager and let someone else have a go. Middlo is like Sven nice bloke good at his job but doesnt have that bit extra at the top level. The BSPA should make Ronnie Russell England manager at the winter conference and mark my words with Ronnie in charge Team GB will win the world cup next year.

right i can no onger resist!!!..you truly are full of craaaaapppp!!!!!

Hagon Shocker and Tabby should check the facts has Team GB won the World Cup under Middlo No. Which team manager left Chris Louis out of the team that lost to Denmark at Wolves on 19 July answer Middlo. What happened England lost to Denmark in a test match. Who the very next week scored 18 paid 19 for Ipswich at Wolves no not Nicholls CHRIS LOUIS. These are FACTS check your speedway stars. You 2 are full of crap not knowing the facts.

Exactly where has Chris Louis suddenly come from in all this?

Everyone moaned about him being given a GP Wildcard at Cardiff!

I think if you bother to actually speak to Chris (sorry, do you actually speak to the riders?) you will find that he was more than happy to be in the studio and not out there on the track!

Your argument is flawed Tabitha. You are a Poole fan and Middlo is Poole team manager so obviously you are gonna stick up for him. There is your error go and have it surgically removed. The FACTS back up my argument in all of this Middlo as England manager HAS been a failure the records back this argument up.

4 World Cups how many wins 0

Test Match v Denmark we LOST check the records.

Chris did say when he came back that he didn't want to get involved in international events, yes he is going well at the moment, and yes I was disappointed he didn't ride in the WTC but I believe Middlo made the right choice in the end with the riders he had available.....and even if Chris did harbour hopes of being picked for the GB team, maybe he wanted to avoid the reaction to his selection for the wildcard at Cardiff.

VV I'm not a Poole fan so my argument isn't flawed. All this crap about the test match. That meeting was about trying riders out you fool.

Middlo picked the best 5 riders available for both the qualifier & the final & they ALL did us proud.

This is the first opportunity Middlo has had to select his best squad & he has led us to our best international result since 1989.

To say he isn't good enough is ludicrous. He is the best man for the job & the riders respond to him.

What is even more ridiculous is that you suggest Ronnie Russell as a replacement. Ronnie Russell wouldn't win a raffle if he had all the tickets. I nearly fell off my chair laughing.

I'm a Newport fan. No alliance to Poole whatsoever. So does that make my arguement more valid than Tabby's? Nope.

More FACTS for Vincent. Arena have not won the league recently, hence Ronnie Russel is a failure.

To be honest, building a team for a league in my opinion is easier than building one for the World Cup. Allow me to explain, I'll use Vincent's beloved Arena as an example. They are obviously struggling at the moment, loosing matches home and away, but next year they can obviously dip into that big Russell money pot and buy/loan new riders, or at least swap then between Camp Russell (Swindon, Arena and Eastbourne). Thus, hopefully making them alot stronger. Now they would be able to pick riders from ALL over the world, that makes a fairly big net.

When picking the riders for the World Cup there is a world of difference. I may be stating the obvious here but you can only pick British riders. If you look around at the moment, we are lagging behind other counties. Out of the 5 riders we had you would say 4 were out and out world class (Loram, Nicholls, Richardsson and Norris) and the last rider was a horses for courses arrangement. I mean no disrespect to either Joe or Gary by that I might add. Whereas Denmark have an average age of about 24. If they keep the conveyor belt going, WOW!

My point is that the test match meant nothing. It was a way of testing the "other" British lads and up and coming lads like Robson, Neath and Howe. None of them really made the step up, so no point in throwing them in the deep end at the World Cup. Chris Louis? Fair play he has made a good comeback and has looked good in recent weeks, but look how he struggled in a big meeting like the British GP, is it really worth taking the risk? Not in my opinion.

At the end of the day Middlo has the most important things from the riders 110% commitment and respect. Middlo in my opinion picked the best team for both meetings.

This is getting(?) ridiculous!

I am not a Poole fan, but do attend Arena and totally disagree with the suggestion put forward in the first post.

Perhaps there is an illness circulating that has the effect of immediately looking for scapegoats when something does not quite work out as hoped?

At the risk of repeating myself, I believe that ALL the members of the GB team, including Neil Middleditch, deserve congratulations and thanks for the enormous efforts they made.
