Midnight_Lady
All this hand-wringing about what a jolly good chap he is making me gag. So is all this vitriol on here Isn't it time to move on for goodness sake. What's done is done!

-DelBoyRodders-
is it just me or is this topic getting a bit old now?!?!?? So we should forgive and forget then? People were going on about Maradonna's hand of god for far longer than a week after it happened you know.

Goodness me are you still on about that, haven't you got over that one either Yet again IF England had played better they would have won the game! same principle applies really, we weren't robbed of the win then and we weren't robbed last week. Same people take things FAR too seriously!
SCB
That bollocks and u know that Shawn, you were being a right prat over the SWC and now your back tracking. Again, it depends how you read my posts, seems some people have read that some people are getting bitchy and automatically assumed you have to be either very for or very against, it's just not true, sorry to disapoint you! Splatty
"The whole World Cup thing has been blown out of all proportion and the were 60 pages on one website about it - madness." good then he is aware of the size of the reaction one thing that I find interesting is that the ref let it go - the FIM let it go - The riders and management let it go by not protesting (even if they are still miffed) - but not the fans - we aren't stupid and we never were What about what he said in the Ipswich programme against Eastbourne last thursday admitting what he done .You convieniently forgot to mention that what did he admit to? Dekker
Again, it depends how you read my posts No Shawn your intent re his sponsors was clear to see.
Guest Sir Lunchalot
Again, it depends how you read my posts, seems some people have read that some people are getting bitchy and automatically assumed you have to be either very for or very against, it's just not true, sorry to disapoint you! You have missed your sporting calling Shawn. Take up football refereeing, your ability to back pedal at a vast rate of knots should stand you in good stead on the football field. Then again you could always say your original postings were made when emotions were running high, it's no crime to admit you went a little over the top with your posts. I must have read your posts the same way as Dekker did !!

Posting his sponsors addresses was irresponsible and crossed a boundary.
SCB
So you've managed to pick to the posts where I had started to argue? Conveniently missed the first 5 or 6 posts with the emoticons? hmmm!! YES, that ONE post was wrong. Edited August 16, 2004 by SCB
Northen Lass
I think this is very sad as all you have done is lost british riders one of their main sponsors for next year. Bet their thank you for that.

Bet their thank you for that. Whose lost their sponsor then? Far as I can tell I no one has at the moment and certainly not a British rider. SCB did something in the heat of the moment and it may or not have been wrong but Ill put money on the fact that Hans hasnt lost a sponsor due to that - he might have lost one due to his no shows last week but I havent seen anywhere he has lost any sponsors? Maybe, just maybe, one of his sponsors was so fed up with pathetic bad losing Brits emailing them that they thought something along the lines of I don't need this I'll withdraw my sponsorship of British riders altogether and concentrate on riders from country's whose supporters aren't so pathetic and are grateful for my support. Splatty
blimey calm down guys - why the SCB witch hunt??? You know what?.. he can't MAKE us do anything and the post providing the (public information) addresses, for me, just represented the frustration that many of us were feeling I still feel that our favourite rider has got away scott free and until the sport gets some balls in dealing with incidents - who is going to get the message across better than the fans? shazzybird
has that actually happened then? Probably not......... it's just to make speedway fans feel guilty for what they've said over the last couple of weeks about BaconBalls. FlyinRyan
has that actually happened then? Someone mentioned it to me over the weekend, but I never thought anything of it, but thinking about it, it could well be possible I suppose. Northen Lass
FlyinRyan Posted on Aug 17 2004, 09:16 AM QUOTE (richtea78 @ Aug 17 2004, 01:25 AM) has that actually happened then? Someone mentioned it to me over the weekend, but I never thought anything of it, but thinking about it, it could well be possible I suppose I don't think but that was the gossip flying around BV last week. And further info.... The wonderful ref, Master Bates, did not have a working television monitior in his box for the first 17 heats, any incidents had to be taken on his initial hunch and where he wasn't sure - all four riders back. Now call me nothern, but, in such a crucial match surely the ref needs a screen to double check facts.
