stevehone
Well the copious amount of postings might be from a few fans repeating themselves rather like S.Hone and his sour grape postings might have something to do with the same old crap from British fans that can't accept that their team has been beaten... i.e Euro Championships.. 'that ref was to blame' 'rooney got hurt' 'owen was off form' 'the ball was different' 'the grass was too green' 'leaves on track' 'wrong kind of snow' etc etc etc ad infinitum for any sporting event.... oh well, soon be the olympics... more excuses filtering out
iris123
I know where you are coming from, but i am pretty much distanced from it over here. You kinda miss things like queueing up for the bus, brown sauce and a sour grape or 10 when you live away from it all
Splatty
lol yeah the olympics crack me up I always have a count on the amount of times the term 'little plucky brit' is used Steve obviously there are a fair amount of posts in the stylee of 'my team have just been beaten and i'm not very happy' but there are also many posts on a far more serious subject and unless, like i've asked you before, you think that Hans is innocent (free the foxhall one!) passing off all these threads as sour grapes is a little unfair

robbiec45
And after all that effort trying to convince sports journalists to cover the final, HA has now made our sport look like a complete laughing stock . If you were a sports journalist covering that final - your first speedway meeting - would you bother again? I don't think so . On the contrary i think it would have given them something to talk/write about instead of just the heat details. Just look at sky and how long they dragged the Pedersen Hancock saga out. Scott Nicholls should have been excluded - but then then again so should lindback in the qualifier for doing the same thing so maybe in the interests of consistency..... the red light incident was unfortunate and as we saw in the british final qualifiers at KL it can have a big effect - I would not expect a ref to do anything about that this kind of thing could go on and on - we could mention how much the swedes gained out of NP being reckless again but then again these threads and posts aren't really about how we should have won are they Steve? I'd say more about how we will never find out what could have been and what a disgrace was brought on the whole event
stevehone
Spot on Steve. I hate it that we always have to have a scapegoat when we fail. thanks for that.... and by the way, don't let Tabby3 see you have an Australian avatar and said about 'us' needing a scapegoat... Tabby3 seems to expect every UK resident to support Team GB and therefore have a GB avatar

I'm a Brit and was proud of the team last night, they certainly did better than I thought they would and I'm very pleased to eat lashings of humble pie. I don't like to see any rider persecuted by so called Speedway fans as happens far to often on this forum. Some of the comments on this forum towards Hans Andersen since last night have frankly been disgusting and have crossed over the boundary. One particular post was the one asking someone to throw a breeze block at him on the back straight tomorrow night - I am surprised that the moderators have allowed that to stay, but perhaps by not, they are endorsing these kind of actions? Oh and Ipswich fans if you don't want Hans please send him back to Alwalton where his talent will be appreciated.

Despite the comments made I will still reply to this part of you message! Although I was not impressed with Hans letting PK by last night in such an obvious way, this did not stop me from being nice (and polite) to him in the bar, I have known Hans since he first came over here in Jan 01 and he is a great guy, just a nightmare on a bike sometimes! I also agree that the comment made regarding the breezeblock was well out of order.
lora
As much as i am totally against what Hans did last night, he is only one person, one dane. There are so many Danish riders, such as Kenneth Bjerre and Charlie Gjedde that you are all slating with out realising because they are Danish. If it was Jarek Hampel that did what Hans did then you would all be knocking the polish. Same with any other riders! So just be happy that we got to the final, avoiding the race off, and we came second, a silver is better then a bronze
Undercover Elephant
Someone do me a favour at Eastbourne on Monday night and throw a breese block at Anderson when he is going down the back straight. Well said Mad 3:16. Read through some of the rubbish on here and quite frankly it's just not worth replying to.But i notice some of the people having a go at team GB, or the ref, or saying sour grapes etc support other countries.I bet none of them actually come from THAT country. They are the type of people that give this country a losing mentality, the mentality they speak so often about.Go away Glory Hunters.I have about as much respect for you as Hans 'Sh**house' Andersen. Your post pretty much sums up my thoughts and feelings about last night at Poole. Sour Grapes just doesn't cut it with me to be honest and I don't have nout to say to those types of people who post comments like that. It seems like these people have been watching too much Pardon The Interuption with Cornheiser and Wilbon to know how to get a reaction out of people on hear! Quite frankly I couldn't give a rats Ass what has been said from the Danish camp in relation to the incident. I know what I saw with my own eyes on TV and Andersen knew EXACTLY what he was doing out there in the last heat and he had the nerve to BLATENTLY LIE on TV and gave a pathetic excuse on what he did out there. All i'll say is pay-backs a bit$h and hope he gets what is coming to him down at Eastbourne on Monday night.
Guest Shnikies
You better make it 7 TomCat and add Mr Bates on the list... The two officials "hand" grading gate 1 for 5 minutes before heat 25 could have been 8 and 9 if Nicholls had made it ! Peter They do say it's a team-effort don't they Peter S? Guest SwineTown
OK, back from SWC and loved it. Track a bit poo but not bad for POOle. Then I come on here and see this whole ht25 - Hans thing?! Whats going on? Can't work it out from the threads. Did he make contact? Did he speak afterwards to Sophie? Did Scotty? Some posts openly accuse Hans of taking bribes - THAT's serious. Any proof? What happened? Missed SKY repeats. Did it get mentioned by Tatum and Louis etc? Just the facts/info and be calm cool and dispassionate please.....
