Guest FastGater
Could someone point me in the right direction as to where to find old programmes from the 1960's. I am looking for Rayleigh inparticular. Thanks

Guest Jim Blanchard
Ebay, (speedway programmes section) or perhaps http://www.ilovespeedway.co.uk Would be good starting places. Edit: Sorry Phil, must have replied at the same time. Edited August 5, 2004 by Jim Blanchard
Guest FastGater
Thanks for replying. Not much joy on eBay although I haven't looked fully yet. I Love Speedway are advertising mainly 50's stuff. Do they have more than they show on the website?
2ndBender
If you're a Witches fan you're ideally placed to have a word with Nick Barber in the Ipswich track shop. He organises all the Collectors Fairs around the country and also issues a bi-monthly Memorabilia list with thousands of items on it. 1960's Rayleigh stuff is relatively easy to get hold of with the 1960 issue being the most costly at around 4 quid. Guest FastGater
Excellent! Thanks 2nd Bender. Will have a word next time I'm at Foxhall

Yes, email him and ask for a list. I have his current list and it covers Rayleigh from 1949 to 1971 and his stock changes quite rapidly. As 2ndBender suggests Nick Barber is good for memorabila too. Tactical Sub
I'm looking for the programme from the first meeting I went to. It was Sheffield v Coventry at Owlerton in 1977 (give or take a year) and the Sheffield team included Wyer, Wilson, Pendlebury, Persson and Allott amongst others. Can anyone help ? Just looked up the result 43-35 to Sheffield. Coventry's top scorer was... Alf Busk (Olsen and Shirra also got double figures)
Tactical Sub
Thanks arnieg - brings back great memories, it was the last time I was with my grandfather before his departure to the great pits in the sky. I remembered the Tigers won but couldn't remember the score.
